Overview
Driven by premium sound
Beats was born to deliver music as the artist intended. Beats Studio Buds are engineered to deliver powerful, balanced sound in a compact design, through an entirely customized acoustic platform. A proprietary, dual-element diaphragm driver resides within a two-chamber housing, resulting in clear sound with outstanding stereo separation. An advanced digital processor then optimizes audio performance for loudness and clarity, while simultaneously ensuring clean noise-cancellation.
The result — immersive sound that pulls the emotion of music from the studio to your ears to keep you going all day long.
Control the noise
With two distinct listening modes, you are in total control of your sound. Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) continuously blocks unwanted outside noise using a finely-tuned filter that dynamically adapts to your surroundings. When you need to hear the world around you, switch to Transparency mode at the press of a button. The external-facing microphones mix the sounds of your surroundings back in with your music for a natural, ‘open’ listening experience.
Power your day
The earbuds have up to 8 hours of listening time¹ with two additional charges provided by its pocket-sized charging case.² That means that Beats Studio Buds give you up to 24 hours of combined playback. With ANC or Transparency mode turned on, you’ll get up to 5 hours of listening time, 15 combined with the case.
If you need a little extra juice, 5-minute Fast Fuel charging gives up to 1 hour of playback³ when battery is low. Now that’s wireless freedom.

Three soft, silicone eartip sizes (small, medium, or large) give you a customized fit and create an acoustic seal for an even more immersive listening experience. These size options provide comfort, stability, and the confidence of staying put. Beats Studio Buds were made to fit seamlessly into your life with its sleek, compact in-ear design. Its matching charging case offers superior portability with a rounded, slim design that easily fits in your pocket or purse. Even better, the earbuds themselves offer an IPX4 rating for sweat and water resistance.⁴
Keep the connection
With Class 1 Bluetooth® technology, Beats Studio Buds offer extended wireless range and fewer dropouts. Dual-beam forming microphones target your voice and filter out wind and external noise for high-quality call performance and elevated voice clarity.
On-ear controls allow you to manage calls and control music. You’ll also be able to customize the “Press and Hold” function to work for either ANC or your voice assistant.⁵
Compatible with Apple and Android
Beats Studio Buds feature simple one-touch pairing for Apple⁶ and Android devices⁷ and easily connect via Bluetooth. With the Beats app for Android, you’ll get features like built-in controls, device status (i.e. battery levels), and firmware updates. With Apple devices, those features are built in to iOS with no app required, and you can also activate Siri hands-free just by saying “Hey Siri”.⁸ And the USB-C charge connector provides a single charging solution across both Apple and Android platforms.

If your AirPods won’t connect
If you need help connecting your AirPods, learn what to do.
If you can’t connect your headphones to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
- Make sure your iPhone or iPod touch is running the latest version of iOS, or that your iPad is running the latest version of iPadOS.
- Place both AirPods inside the charging case and check that both AirPods are charging.
- To make sure Bluetooth is enabled, go to Settings > Bluetooth.
- If AirPods are connected, make sure they are selected as the active audio device. If your AirPods appear in the device list but won’t connect, continue to the next step.
- Close the lid, wait 15 seconds, then open the lid. Press and hold the setting button on the back of the charging case for 10 seconds. The status light on the front of the charging case should flash white. This means your AirPods are ready to be connected.
- Place your AirPods in the charging case and bring it with the lid open to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
- Follow the instructions on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
- Check your AirPods. If you still can’t connect, reset your AirPods.
If you can’t connect your headphones to your Mac
- Make sure your Mac has the latest version of macOS.
- Place both AirPods inside the charging case and check that both AirPods are charging.
- To make sure Bluetooth is turned on, go to Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Bluetooth.
- If AirPods are connected, make sure they are selected as the active audio device. If your AirPods appear in the device list but won’t connect, click the X to the right of them to remove them from the list.
- Close the lid, wait 15 seconds, then open the lid. Press and hold the setting button on the charging case for 10 seconds. The status light should flash white, which means your AirPods are ready to connect.
- Place your AirPods in the charging case and bring it with the lid open to your Mac.
- Follow the instructions on the Mac screen.
- Check your AirPods. If you still can’t connect, reset your AirPods.
Software requirements

left/right earphone not working, not syncing, not connecting, case/earphone not charging
In this article, we will try to solve three problems that owners of Xiaomi Mi True Wireless Earbuds basic and Xiaomi Redmi AirDots Bluetooth headphones most often face. As we already know, these are the same headphones. I have been using these headphones for several weeks now and have never had any problems with them.
They work great on both phones and laptops. But this is not always the case and not for everyone.
The main problems that most often occur during the connection and operation of Xiaomi TWS headphones:
- When the headphones are not synchronized with each other. These TWS headphones work as follows: there is a main earpiece, on my Earbuds basic it is the right one. When we turn them on or take them out of the case, the left earpiece is connected to the right one. They sync. After that, we connect the right earpiece to the device and play both headphones. But it happens that there is a desynchronization. As a result, the headphones do not connect. And one, right or left Redmi AirDots does not work. Or the left or right earphone simply does not connect. Most often the left.
- When Xiaomi Redmi AirDots or Earbuds do not connect to a phone, tablet, laptop, etc. Most often, the device simply does not see them. We open the list of available Bluetooth devices, but the headphones are not displayed there. However, they are not in the case and are included.
- When Xiaomi headphones are not charging. The left or right earphone does not charge, or the case (aka the charging case, from which the earphones are charged in turn) does not charge.
However, they are not in the case and are included. Update: for those who came to this page with a problem where either the left or right earphone completely stopped working. The indicator does not light, does not respond to pressing the button. This article has a working solution that got a lot of positive feedback in the comments. Why won’t AirDots/Earbuds sync and one earbud won’t work?
One of the most common problems with these headphones. Just at one moment, the right or left earpiece stops connecting and working. As I wrote above, most often the left earpiece does not connect. All because the right is the main one. It connects to the device, and the left to the right does not connect.
Why is this happening? I think there are mainly two reasons:
- The user himself connects the left earpiece to the phone. Directly. For example, in the case of my Xiaomi Mi True Wireless Earbuds basic, only the right earbud is available for connection on the phone. At the end of the name there is an index “_R”. But on the Internet, I saw instructions for Redmi AirDots, where two headphones are displayed in the list of available for connection on the phone: “_R” and “_L”. And if you connect to the left, then in the future they most likely will not be synchronized and only one earphone will work.
- Well, there is no need to rule out some kind of software failure. Headphones are inexpensive, they produce just a huge amount. Therefore, the quality may suffer a little.
This problem is solved by deleting on the phone (or other device to which the headphones were connected) both headphones “_R” and “_L” (if both were connected), resetting the headphones and reconnecting.
1. Remove the earpiece on devices
Just open the Bluetooth settings on the device you have already paired these headphones with, find them in the list of paired devices (my devices), click on (i) or on the gear button next to the headphones and select “Delete device”, or “Forget this device”. If the list contains two headphones with “_R” and “_L” at the end of the name, delete both!
On iPhone/iPad and on Android devices, this is done in much the same way. Similarly, you can remove the headphones on a laptop in the Windows settings. Below I will give links to instructions, which show in more detail how to do this.
2. Reset settings
Reset on Xiaomi Redmi AirDots and Earbuds is a separate issue altogether. In the instructions that are included in the kit, one way is written, in the instructions on the Internet other solutions are shown, but in practice (with my headphones) something incomprehensible happens. When you try to reset the settings, they seem to just turn off and on.
The behavior of the indicators on the headphones may be different, but the method itself is the same.
- Take both earphones out of the case.
- Simultaneously press the button on each of the headphones and hold it for 15-20 seconds.
Preferably press so that you can see the LEDs. - Put the headphones back in the case.
- We take it out of the case and connect the right earpiece on the device. It will be called “Mi True Wireless EBs Basic_R” or “Redmi AirDots_R”.
Another way:
- Remove the earbuds from the case and turn them off by holding the button on each earbud for 5 seconds. The red indicator will turn on and turn off.
- We press the keys on both headphones for 30-50 seconds. When the reset occurs, the AirDots should sound a beep (twice).
- We hide the headphones in the case, then we take them out, wait a few seconds and connect them to the device.
How AirDots headphones are synchronized: we take them out of the case or turn them on manually and the indicator on both headphones is actively flashing.
After that, the indicator on the left earpiece goes out, and on the right one it continues to blink slowly. This means that the headphones are connected and ready to connect.

AirDots are not connected: the device does not see them
We took the headphones out of the case, but the device to which we want to connect them does not find them. Headphones do not appear in the list of available devices. This problem usually occurs in two cases:
- The earpiece is already automatically connected to some device with which it was previously paired.
- They have switched off/the battery is dead.
An important point: AirDots and Earbuds are available for connection (devices can find them) when a white indicator on one of the headphones flashes slowly. Most often it is the right earpiece.
When you take the earpiece out of the case, the lights start flashing and immediately turn off on both earbuds, which means the earbuds are connecting to some device nearby. To which you have previously connected them. To connect them to another device, you need to apply one of the following solutions:
- Turn off Bluetooth on the device to which the headphones are connected.
- Go to the Bluetooth settings on this device and turn off the headphones.
- Delete (forget) Airdots on this device.
After that, they will not automatically connect to this device.
As soon as you disconnect the headphones from the device, a white indicator on one of them will flash. This means that they are searchable and you can connect them to another device.

AirDots/Earbuds not charging or case
When the Xiaomi AirDots / Earbuds case does not charge, or one / both earbuds do not charge, then the problem is usually hardware. That is, resetting the settings, reconnecting, etc. will not solve it. Let’s try to figure it out.
Update: working solution for charging problem when the indicator on the earpiece is not lit
In the comments, the author of Mister shared an interesting, and judging by the feedback, working solution. When one earbud is not charging, you need to put the earpiece in the case (before that, make sure that the case is charged) and simultaneously press the button.
Just put the earpiece in the case and at that moment press the button.

Update. If the solution that I wrote about above did not work, then try doing it a little differently.
Hold the button on the earpiece, and without releasing it with both hands, put the earpiece into the case. Only then release the button. The earphone should start charging.
Charging case problems
When the case is being charged, a subtle red light on the front of the case flashes red. When it is fully charged, the indicator turns off. After disconnecting from charging, this indicator will light up when the case is not fully charged.
If you connect the cable, but the case does not charge, then there are not many solutions. But try this:
- I think you have already checked the cable connection several times. Disconnected and reconnected it. If not, try it.
- Try a different cable and/or power adapter.
- Look for debris in the connector on the case. You can take a toothpick and gently clean this hole.
- If the headphones are already old, the battery may have failed.
- Do not rule out a hardware failure of the case.
- On Aliexpress you can buy just such a charger.
It’s not as convenient as a case, but it might be an option. True, if you buy two such charges (for each earbud), then new headphones are not much more expensive.
Earpiece not charging
But it happens that the case is charging, but the headphones are not. If your left or right earphone (or both) is not charging, then try the following:
- Check if the earphones fit well in the case. You can try to lightly press the liner.
- Remove the earphone that is not charging from the case and look closely at the contacts on the earpiece itself and on the case. Maybe something got in between them and there is no contact.
- It happens that the contact on the case itself sinks. Examine them carefully.
Both contacts must be the same height and must be pressed (spring). - If you could not solve this problem with charging Xiaomi Redmi AirDots on your own, you will have to return the earphone to a service center.
