After VIZIO’s low-end TVs like the P-Series went on sale, the brand has once again pleased us with the new VIZIO M-Series 4K. The latest VIZIO 4K models surprise us with their quality-to-price ratio in the 4K TV market, as well as the ability to access 4K content online.
VIZIO M43-C1 4K series TV review
The VIZIO M-Series 4K Ultra HD TV model is a Smart TV and is one of the most profitable 4K TVs in the entire 4K TV market today.
The VIZIO M-Series ranges from 43″ to 70″. This entire lineup may not be able to compete with such monsters as UHD models from Samsung, LG, Panasonic or Sony … but in terms of specifications, VIZIO is not inferior. VIZIO is currently the undisputed market leader in the low price segment of 4K TVs.
Advantages
Let’s consider the VIZIO M43-C1 TV from this line – this is, of course, not a Hi-End UHD 4K TV model, and it cannot be compared with Samsung SUHD or, for example, with LG OLED, but it is compact and gorgeous the thing is capable of perfectly reproducing 4K content.
For entry-level TV VIZIO M43-C1 has the ability to connect to any source of video content via built-in Wi-Fi adapter, via Ethernet connector, HDMI 2.0 interface with HDCP 2.2 support and full HVEC and VP9 functionality. The ability to connect and use online services such as Netflix, Amazon, YouTube 4K, as well as external devices that support playback of content in 4K are on board “from the factory” and there is no need to install it yourself.
In VIZIO’s P-Series, this M43-C1 naturally features full-array backlighting, which is only found in high-end 4K TVs such as high-end models such as Samsung, Sony or LG. Unlike other brands, VIZIO has built full-array technology right into the concept of its 4K TVs, which makes it stand out from other low-priced TV manufacturers that have this great feature in the specification.
It should be noted that there is another good feature in VIZIO M-Series TVs – these are 28 differentiated zone lighting settings, in principle, as well as automatic setting.
Disadvantages
The Vizio M43-C1 and its 4K TV entertainment are functional and attractive with features such as HDCP 2.2 and Full-array backlighting. Therefore, the manufacturer no longer introduces any additional innovations in this line, considering the presence of the above “goodies” to be sufficient.
In this model, you will not get the exquisite qualities of OLED technology as in Samsung SUUHD HDR monsters. The Vizio M43-C1 also doesn’t offer on-screen dot quantization like the Sony or Samsung models.
Despite some drawbacks, with this TV functionality, you will get quite good quality when watching 4K content even at standard settings.
Some minor image defects with a contrast picture and slight blackouts in parts of the screen are still observed, but this will not create global problems when viewing 4K content on the VIZIO M43-C1 TV.
Analysis
Vizio M43-C1 TV gives you the opportunity to enjoy the quality of 4K content exactly as the manufacturer promises.
This is a great entry-level model that will allow you to enjoy picture quality when playing 4K content, excellent connectivity for various external devices.
Manual and automatic settings will allow you to select the desired playback modes and, if necessary, customize “for yourself.” For an entry-level 4K TV, we cannot recommend anything other than this TV model (line).

Highlights
The Vizio M-Class line includes seven models of TVs that differ only in screen size. VIZIO M43-C1, like others, gives you a good opportunity to start with this particular brand. The manufacturer has deliberately launched an entry-level 4K TV with good performance and low cost – we are sure that the choice will fall on it.
Some of the highlights of this range are worth highlighting.
For the entry level, the presence of full-array backlight technology in Vizio TVs will certainly give an advantage over all similar ones. The dimensions of the TV are, in general, very compact in both the P-Series and M-Series. With Full-array matrix backlighting, you get an excellent picture on the screen, brightness and color.
Another argument that attracts attention is the presence of 28 separate presets for backlighting the screen areas and the 43-inch screen in the VIZIO M43-C1 model will perfectly reproduce the content.
You can scroll through the presets and choose the one that suits you best.
In addition to all of the above, the VIZIO M43-C1 TV has a standard ultra HD 4K resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels. This, which has already become familiar to us, is an argument for the possibility of Upscaling (scaling) ordinary 720p HD and 1080p Full HD content in UHD 4K.
Vizio scales with ease thanks to its hardware.
It is worth noting that the VIZIO M43-C1 is perfectly connected to external online entertainment sources in 4K resources Netflix, Amazon Prime Instant Video, Ultraflix. Integrated HDMI 2.0, HDCP 2.2 and HEVC/VP9(compression codec) chew through a huge amount of content with ease.
The VIZIO M43-C1 TV is a 43 inch 4K Ultra HD Smart TV with full-array LED display backlight. 4K ultra HD resolution has already become standard for us, 3840 x 2160 pixels – there is nothing new here. The
M43-C1 allows you to perform Ultra Upscaling with the built-in VM50 Ultra HD video processor for crystal clear images.
The screen refresh rate is 120Hz.
Connectivity
Vizio M43-C1 is well suited for easy external connection of various devices, as well as the consumption of Internet content. Of course, there is a wireless Wi-Fi adapter on board that operates in the 802.11ac standard in two bands of 2.4 and 5 GHz, providing high-speed wireless connection.
The
Ethernet port gives you the ability to connect with a wire for the highest internet speed to “consume” the monsters of Netflix and Amazon streams.
The M43-C1 has excellent HDMI ports. There are five in total. All ports are HDMI 2.0 standard and provide excellent picture quality at 60 Hz – HDCP 2.2 is standard.
You can also use the component input, composite, USB to connect external devices.
The price category of the TV VIZIO M43-C1 is not just low, but a record low. And this is taking into account the price-quality ratio. It is also worth noting that the Vizio P Series (P50-C1, P55-C1, P65-C1, P75-C1) has recently launched.
The price of these models is higher, but the quality has improved markedly.
