          No home entertainment system can deliver an extraordinary experience without proper sound quality, even if you have the best picture quality from your TV. Like in a movie theater or a stadium, sound plays an important role in immersing the audience. TVs are getting thinner and thinner, which means less space for proper speakers. Despite this, modern high-end TVs can get loud, some have okay bass and deliver clear and understandable dialogue, but the sound quality is still nothing compared to a proper sound setup. We suggest you check our recommendations for the best soundbars if you want the best sound.

          We’ve bought and tested more than 390 TVs, and below are our recommendations for the TVs with the best sound you can buy. Make sure to check out recommendations for the best TVs, the best outdoor TVs, and the best smart TVs. Brands have been releasing their 2023 lineups, so vote on which ones you want us to buy and test. To learn more about the 2023 models, check out our 2023 TV lineup page.

            The best sounding TV we’ve tested is the LG G1 OLED. It’s an impressive TV that delivers fantastic visuals with good sound quality. It has a very good frequency response, with one of the best bass responses we’ve measured on a TV, so unlike most TVs, there’s a bit of thump and rumble. It also gets very loud, but there are some compression artifacts at max volume. It has an extremely well-balanced sound profile at moderate listening levels, so dialogue is clear and easy to understand. It also supports eARC, which is great if you connect it to a home theater system or soundbar.

            It also delivers fantastic picture quality thanks to its OLED panel. Blacks are perfectly deep and uniform in a dark room, which is great for watching movies as there’s no distracting blooming or haloing around bright objects or subtitles. It can display a wide color gamut with HDR content, which looks incredibly vivid and lifelike. Its successor, the LG G2 OLED, had unimpressive sound, but the recently released LG G3 OLED sounds good and has less distortion than the G1. Sadly the G3 doesn’t get as loud and has significantly less bass than its predecessor, so the G1 still sounds better overall, but the G3 supports advanced DTS and DTS:X audio formats. It’s a tough decision, but as the G1 sounds better, is still widely available, and is cheaper, it’s still our pick.

            The TV with the best sound we’ve tested in the upper mid-range category is the Sony X95K. It’s a great TV overall that sounds good. Its well-balanced sound profile makes dialogue clear and easy to understand. It doesn’t get as loud as the LG G1 OLED and has less bass, but it has less compression and very little distortion at high volume levels. It supports eARC and a wider range of audio formats than the LG, including DTS:X via DTS-HD MA, which is great as that’s the most commonly supported format on UHD Blu-ray movies.

            It delivers fantastic picture quality, but whereas the LG delivers perfect inky blacks with no blooming thanks to its OLED panel, the Sony relies on a Mini LED full array local dimming feature to achieve deep blacks, so there’s more distracting blooming around bright objects. It still looks great, and bright highlights stand out with its excellent peak brightness in HDR. It also has a wide color gamut, making HDR content vivid and lifelike.

            The TCL 6 Series/R646 2021 QLED is the best-sounding mid-range TV we’ve tested. It’s a great overall TV available in a few different sizes, from 55 to 75 inches, and it combines its great picture quality with good sound quality. It has a decent frequency response with a well-balanced sound profile that delivers clear dialogue, which is great for watching the news or TV shows. It also gets very loud as it’s one of the lowest TVs we’ve tested, with very little distortion, even at max volume. If you plan on using an external soundbar or home theater system, it supports eARC audio passthrough with all major formats.

            It delivers similar overall sound quality to the Sony X95K but has slightly worse picture quality, as it’s not as bright as the Sony and has a narrow viewing angle. It performs well in dark and bright environments thanks to its great peak brightness and high contrast ratio. It uses the user-friendly Google TV smart platform, which is easy to use and has a huge selection of streaming apps, so you can easily find your favorite streaming content. Its successor, the TCL 6 Series/R655 2022 QLED, doesn’t sound nearly as good, so it’s not a contender for our pick.

            The Insignia F50 QLED is the best budget TV with decent sound quality that we’ve tested. It’s a simple TV with okay overall performance, and it offers good value for its price. It surprisingly has an alright sound quality for a budget-friendly TV, as most other low-cost options have mediocre sound. It gets fairly loud and has a well-balanced sound profile, meaning it’s a good choice for listening to dialogue, but like most TVs, it doesn’t produce much bass, so get a soundbar for the best sound possible. If you do, the TV supports Dolby and DTS audio formats for passthrough.

            The built-in Fire TV platform is user-friendly, and menu navigation feels smooth. It has a bunch of apps you can download, and the mic built into the remote gives you access to the Alexa voice assistant feature. It also has decent overall picture quality with deep blacks if you want to use it in a dark room and decent peak brightness and reflection handling in bright rooms. It’s difficult to find, as it’s been discontinued, but the 50-inch and 65-inch models are still readily available.

          Notable Mentions

          • Sony X90K:
            The Sony X90K is a lower-end version of the Sony X95K. It means it doesn’t sound as good and isn’t as bright, but it still has decent sound quality and excellent peak brightness, so it’s still a good choice for well-lit rooms if you want to save a bit of money.

          • Vizio M7 Series Quantum 2021:
            The Vizio M7 Series Quantum 2021 has decent sound and is overall better than the Insignia F50 QLED. However, it has worse smart features and costs more.
            See our review
          • Sony X75K:
            The Sony X75K is a decent-sounding TV for a good price, but it has low contrast and just okay picture quality, so the TCL 6 Series/R646 2021 QLED is a better choice for most users.

          Our recommendations above are what we think are currently the best sounding TVs to buy for most people with different tastes. We factor in the price (a cheaper TV wins over a pricier one if the difference isn’t worth it), and availability (no TVs that are difficult to find or almost out of stock everywhere).

          If you would like to do the work of choosing yourself, here is the list of all our reviews of TVs, sorted by their sound quality. Be careful not to get too caught up in the details. While no TV is perfect, most TVs are great enough to please almost everyone, and the differences are often not noticeable unless you really look for them. Keep in mind that no TV can deliver the sound quality of a dedicated sound system or a soundbar.

          FAQS

          Is a soundbar worth it?

          Although modern TVs tend to have some pretty reliable speakers, adding a soundbar to your setup can really enhance your listening experience. They usually only require an HDMI connection and are very easy to set up.

          While TV speakers are limited by the depth of the model, a soundbar can deliver quality audio across your entire room. If you want more bass when playing video games or watching movies, the subwoofer of a soundbar is a must. Any TV with 4 or fewer speakers will greatly benefit from being paired with a soundbar, and you’ll be able to enjoy significantly clearer audio too.

          Can TV speakers go bad?

          Unfortunately, TV speakers can go bad over time. Although it may take a little bit of use for the speakers to be at their best performance, eventually the volume and quality of the audio will deteriorate. You’ll be able to tell when a speaker is dying as the sound will be more distorted, and you may need to turn the volume up higher to match what it previously sounded like. This is another case for getting a soundbar, as it can pick up the slack from worn-out speakers.

          When choosing a TV, many are guided by sound quality, because the effect of immersion depends on it. The sound is especially important for those who prefer fantasy and science fiction – it is much more pleasant to hear the sounds of space battles or the clatter of horse hooves with all shades, as if you are in the center of events.

          TV in the home was once considered a luxury, but today it is a necessity for many. Sitting for an hour – another in front of the TV, forgetting about earthly things – isn’t it a great idea for the weekend?! However, not only a high-quality image makes a movie show interesting and exciting, a lot also depends on the sound.

          We have taken into account the reviews and ratings of all models listed here. We take the liberty of saying that these TVs are really very good, and which one will take place in your apartment is up to you.

          The best TVs for the kitchen – Rating 2023

          Today you can increasingly see a TV in a modern kitchen. Which is not surprising – many housewives spend the lion’s share of the day doing cooking. Therefore, the opportunity to watch their favorite films, series and talk shows perfectly brightens up their life. It makes no sense to install a large TV in the kitchen – in a small room it will bring not so much pleasure as discomfort. Indeed, at a short distance it is simply impossible to cover the entire screen with a glance. Therefore, experts recommend taking models with a not too large screen. Let’s talk about the best TVs for the kitchen and make a small TOP, in which each reader will find a model that suits him.

          The best inexpensive TVs for the kitchen

          Many people, choosing a TV for installation in the kitchen, try to save money. Quite a reasonable decision – after all, you still have to watch it half-heartedly, often being distracted by cleaning, cutting, mixing, pouring something. A large diagonal is also not needed – it is better to save it for the living room or a spacious bedroom. High sound power is also not necessary, since in a small room no one will turn it on at full power anyway. So, let’s look at a few models that will be a good purchase.

          1. LG 24TN520S-PZ

          LG LCD TV is a versatile multimedia device. This model can also be used as a computer monitor. If you buy an inexpensive nettop and wireless peripherals, then you will have a full-fledged PC in your kitchen.
          However, even without it, TV will not disappoint with its functionality. The TV received a proprietary webOS operating system, as well as Wi-Fi and even Bluetooth. The sound for its category is also excellent, and is represented by a pair of 5 watt speakers.

          You can also use your mobile device as a content source with LG’s compact kitchen TV. ScreenShare technology is designed for this, duplicating the image from a smartphone / tablet via Miracast.

          Small TV display with WVA technology. Despite the similar name, the screen has nothing to do with VA-like panels. It’s just an improved TN-matrix with slightly wider viewing angles.
          TV interface set is minimally sufficient. In addition to the previously mentioned wireless modules, RJ-45, a pair of HDMI and a single USB are available here. Of the useful additional features, we note child protection and voice control.

          Advantages:

          • wireless modules;
          • anti-reflective coating;
          • high-quality picture;
          • fair value;
          • 10 W sound;
          • nice design.

          Disadvantages:

          • speaker rattle at maximum volume.

          2. Thomson T24RTE1280 24″

          Thomson is one of the most popular budget TVs for the kitchen. The T24RTE1280 has very good speakers with a total output of 16W. In terms of volume, they are great for a standard one-room apartment, not to mention a small kitchen. The screen resolution is the same here (1366×768), but the screen itself is of the VA type.

          T24RTE1280 is the lightest TV in the ranking. This is important if you plan to fix the equipment on a wall or partition that is not too strong. VESA 100×100 mm is used for fixation. The TV does not have an operating system. Additional options in the device at least. There are standard TimeShift (“pause” live) and video recording.

          Advantages:

          • good VA matrix;
          • signal reception quality;
          • loud stereo speakers;
          • good color balance;
          • compact and lightweight;
          • attractive price tag.

          Drawbacks:

          • Ports are inconveniently located.

          3. Polarline 24PL51TC-SM 24″

          The case when supporting a domestic manufacturer is not only pleasant, but also very profitable. A cheap TV from Polarline provides everything you need for use in the kitchen out of the box. First, the operating system is installed here. Moreover, we are talking about a full-fledged Android, which allows you to install, including third-party applications. Of the minuses, we note the slowness of the shell, because there is weak hardware and only 512 MB of RAM. The built-in storage is 4 GB, which is not bad for a budget model. The display of a good Polarline kitchen TV is comparable in quality to LG appliances. But the sound here is a little more modest (two speakers of 3 W each). But there are a couple of USB ports.

          Advantages:

          • stock Android system;
          • two USB ports;
          • price-performance ratio;
          • easy to set up;
          • one of the cheapest in the class;
          • good matrix calibration.

          Disadvantages:

          • amount of RAM;
          • low sound power.

          The Best Smart TVs for the Kitchen

          Many modern TVs have a Smart TV function, making them almost as functional as computers. Therefore, it is not surprising that some people, when purchasing kitchen appliances, are also looking for a Smart TV in order to get more pleasure and comfort when working. Yes, in this case you will have to overpay a fairly large amount. But this is fully offset by the many advantages that technology has. Therefore, such a purchase should definitely not disappoint you.

          1. LG 28TN525S-PZ 27.5″

          Another model from the South Korean brand LG continues the TOP TVs. There is no need to dwell on it in detail, because it is an almost complete copy of the 24TN520S-PZ discussed above. Here is the same system, a similar set of interfaces, identical speakers, wall mounting and additional functions. The main change affected only the matrix.

          First, the screen size of one of the best reviewed TVs has increased to 27.5 inches. Secondly, the quality of the matrix has slightly improved. For example, the static contrast ratio has increased to 1200:1. But the resolution remains the same – 1366 × 768 pixels with 8-bit color display (6 bit + FRC). Brightness varies from 160 to 250 cd/m2.

          Advantages:

          • both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth;
          • optimal size for the kitchen;
          • fast webOS operation;
          • decent sound;
          • value-performance combination;
          • high-quality image, sound;
          • voice control function.

          Disadvantages:

          • for this price I would like a full-fledged 8-bit matrix.

          2. Samsung T24h495SIX 23.5″

          Cool Full HD TV that can also be used as a monitor. Its diagonal is 23.5 inches or 60 cm. The screen is made using PLS technology, which is Samsung’s own modification of the popular IPS type. Due to improvements, the panel has become more contrast (3000:1), while maintaining maximum viewing angles.

          Alas, the response time of the T24h495SIX screen reaches 15 ms, so if you not only watch movies in the kitchen, but also play, it is better to choose another device.

          In addition to WiFi support, the TV also offers Ethernet, a pair of HDMI, a USB connector, AV and a CI slot. Unfortunately, there is no Bluetooth here. Two speakers with a power of 5 W each are responsible for the sound in the device. The equipment supports the Dolby Digital decoder. The system in the TV of its own design is Tizen. The platform is fast.

          Advantages:

          • nice appearance;
          • quality speakers;
          • resolution and contrast;
          • Dolby Digital Audio support;
          • decent assembly;
          • System performance.

          3. Samsung UE32T4510AU 32″

          Room sizes are different for everyone. But if you live in a private house or a large apartment, you almost certainly have a spacious kitchen. Therefore, a screen of 24 and even 28 inches in this case will be too small. But a 32-inch Smart TV for the kitchen is a great solution. But note that the resolution here is only HD Ready, which is not enough for close-up viewing. But Tizen OS on such a screen works at lightning speed.

          A kitchen TV with good viewing angles supports all broadcasting standards, which allows you to connect to digital, cable, and satellite. The speakers here are of high quality, but in terms of power they are rather weak for their size (total 10 watts). Unfortunately, the manufacturer did not add Bluetooth for the older TV model. But there were some nice bonuses: there is a light sensor, DLNA support and a Micro Dimming Pro matrix dimming function.

          Advantages:

          • picture and sound quality;
          • convenient control panel;
          • stylish white housing;
          • the presence of a Wi-Fi module;
          • justified price tag;
          • angle antenna adapter;
          • Color retention at an angle.

          Disadvantages:

          • low screen resolution.

          The best TVs for small kitchens

          If you are constrained by such difficulties as a small kitchen, then it is not always possible to buy and install a TV in the kitchen to give preference to models with a diagonal of 24-27 inches. It is for such users that we have included in our rating of the best models and several TVs with a display diagonal not exceeding 22 inches.

          1. LG 24TL520V-PZ 23.6″

          When installing a TV in the kitchen, not all users need smart features. Even when such capabilities are needed, low-cost hardware often suffers from poor performance and system freezes. Therefore, in this case, you should buy a separate prefix that will more effectively cope with its tasks.

          Which device should I choose? A good solution would be 24TL520V-PZ. For the kitchen, this TV model will fit very well. It is identical in design to the South Korean TV brand described above. The matrix here is also made using WVA technology, and the speakers have a total power of 10 watts. But then two USBs are soldered. But there is only one HDMI.

          Advantages:

          • signal reception quality;
          • good screen calibration;
          • richness and contrast of colors
          • good sound;
          • has two USB 2.0 ports.

          Disadvantages:

          • only one HDMI and no AV.

          2. Philips 24PFS5605 24″

          We can call the model from Philips the best TV in the review in terms of price-quality ratio. Looking at the dry characteristics, this is not entirely obvious, because with a price tag of almost 15 thousand, the device does not offer even a simple system. But on the other hand, the TV has high-quality Full HD, which has excellent (for its category) color reproduction. Also, the technique pleases, albeit not too loud, but with a clear sound. Of the connectors in a quality TV, there is one USB, a pair of HDMI and even VGA. There is a headphone port and an optical output. CAM modules with decoding card are supported. Philips 24PFS5605 accepts both digital, cable and satellite as a signal source.

          Advantages:

          • high pixel density;
          • stylish TV design;
          • the presence of two HDMI and VGA;
          • picture and sound quality;
          • Pixel Plus HD processing chip.

          Disadvantages:

          • inconveniently designed menu.

          3. Hyundai H-LED24FT2000 24″

          If the TV is intended for the kitchen, then not all buyers are ready to pay big money for it. The Hyundai brand will allow you to save on the purchase of equipment. This brand offers a large number of good affordable devices, among which we decided to consider the H-LED24FT2000 model. In Russia, it can be bought cheaper than 10 thousand.

          Of course, you shouldn’t expect an operating system for such money. But there are two HDMIs here at once, so you can connect both a set-top box and a PC or other source.

          As can be judged from customer reviews, the TV pleases with a good image. But its maximum brightness is very modest and is only 170 cd / m2. Contrast, on the contrary, is quite high – 3000:1. The sound is clear, but not very loud, because it is represented by a pair of 2W speakers. VESA 200×100 brackets are used for wall mounting.

          Advantages:

          • two HDMI and coaxial output;
          • Dolby Digital decoder support;
          • price-performance ratio;
          • comfortable feet and VESA mount;
          • all three signal reception formats;
          • the ability to search for radio stations.

          What is the best TV for the kitchen

          If the kitchen is spacious enough, Samsung’s T24h495SIX is the best choice. In small spaces, 24-inch models from LG will look great. Moreover, the company offers a choice of a device with webOS, and a solution without Smart TV. Also in the review of the best TVs in the kitchen was the Hyundai model.
