  • Remote controls with MIC button connect to the TV via Bluetooth. Radio interference may occur in the following situations and cause problems such as poor microphone or remote control performance because Bluetooth radio waves use the same frequency as those emitted by microwave ovens and wireless LANs (IEEE802.11b/g/n).
    • There are people or obstacles (such as metal objects or walls) between the TV and the remote control.
    • A microwave oven is in use nearby.
    • There is a wireless LAN access point nearby.
    • TV and remote control not paired.

In these cases, try the following solutions.

    • Use the remote control closer to the TV.
    • Remove obstacles between TV and remote control.

Press the HOME button, then select the following in order.
If [Settings] – [Remotes and Accessories] – [Bluetooth Settings] – [Bluetooth] is disabled, enable it. If it is enabled, disable it and then enable it again.
    • Install wireless LAN access points and microwave ovens at least 10 m away from the TV.
    • If 5 GHz (IEEE802.11a) is available on the wireless LAN, connect to 5 GHz.
    • Re-pair the remote control.
Press the HOME button, then select the following in order.
[Settings] – [Remotes and Accessories] – [Remote Control] – [Connect via Bluetooth] – [Pair New Remote Control] – Follow the on-screen instructions to reconnect the remote control.
If you cannot control the TV with the supplied remote control, select [Connect a new remote control] in the above order using the remote control of another Sony TV, then try connecting again with the supplied remote control.
  • Depending on the model, the package includes a Bluetooth remote control already paired with the TV. At the time of delivery, this remote control cannot be used to control other TVs. When checking the operation of the remote control, you should use the TV with which this remote control was supplied.

Remote control reset

If the remote control is not working properly due to poor battery contact or static electricity, resetting the remote control may solve the problem.

  1. Remove the batteries from the remote control.
  2. Press and hold the power button on the remote control for three seconds.
  3. Install new batteries in the remote control.

If the problem persists, see Performing a Hard Reset (Restart) of the TV and Frequently Asked Questions for troubleshooting.

  • After disconnecting the TV’s power cable and then plugging it back in, the TV may not turn on for a while when you press the power button on the remote control or on the TV. This is because the system takes some time to initialize. Wait 10-20 seconds and try again.
