Clear screen, easy to use but software/hardware issues.
Amazon Customer (Dec 23, 2018)
on AmazonClear screen and nice quality. This tablet provides users with a great easy to use experience. However, I have to mention the software issues I encountered. The product would randomly restart during various apps for no reason. It would also have huge battery drops sometimes going from 75 to 35 in 2 minutes. It seemed to get worse as time went on.This is a shame because when it did run it run quite well, multiple processors means it can switch between apps fast and optimized apps well

The best Samsung Galaxy Tab A deals in July 2023

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A range is the more affordable series of tablets designed for light everyday use. These devices can be picked up for even less, too, once you factor in the regular Samsung Galaxy Tab A deals that pop up. The lowest prices may happen around big retail events like the 4th of July sales and Prime Day, but even throughout the year, we see price cuts on the popular tablet range – and you can find them all right here.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab A range is fairly diverse, making it one of the best cheap tablets for those with different budgets and requirements. That means if you’re in the market for an Android tablet, this is a good option to consider. From basic web browsing or streaming shows, right up to some light gaming, there’s a Samsung Galaxy Tab A for your needs.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 starts at $230 / £219 / AU$389, but in recent times, we’ve seen it drop to $159 / £139 / AU$279 when on sale. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite has the occasional discount from $160 / £149 / AU$249 to $149 / $117 / AU$228 or similar. Although, as it’s much older now, the A8 is often the best choice for most. And it could very cheap as part of this year’s Amazon Prime Day tablet deals.
As always though, it’s a good idea to check out other tablet deals to see what options are available. With many iPad deals out there, along with Amazon Fire tablet deals, you’re not short on choice.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A8
Ideal for watching shows and movies
Weight: 476g | Dimensions: 247 x 162 x 7mm | OS: Android 11 | Screen size: 10.5 inches | Resolution: 1920 x 1200 | RAM: 3GB | Storage: 32GB + MicroSD card slot | Battery: 7040mAh
Budget price
Well suited for entertainment
Includes Dolby Atmos
Not very powerful
Our Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 review says this cheap device is a well-made mid-range tablet that’s aimed at those that don’t want to spend too much. It’s best suited for anyone looking to enjoy streaming shows or getting some light gaming in on the move. It has a 10.5-inch 1200 x 1920 screen along with four speakers that have Dolby Atmos audio.
A decent-sized 7,040mAh battery means this has ‘make your commute more interesting’ written all over it while there’s a 5MP front-facing camera for when you need to take video calls. For the price, it has the bases covered, right down to an always-useful 3.5mm headphone port.
Thanks to it being simple yet useful, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 is reasonably well-priced. It starts at $230 / £219 but it’s often discounted – and even outside of major sales events you can find it with a saving of around $60 / £50. Count on seeing it get even cheaper around Black Friday and other sales events.
Samsung Galaxy A7 Lite
Cheap and lightweight in every way
Weight: 366g | Dimensions: 213 x 125 x 8mm | OS: Android | Screen size: 8. 7 inches | Resolution: 1340 x 800 | RAM: 3GB | Storage: 32GB + MicroSD card slot | Battery: 5100mAh
Good value for money
Lightweight design
Sluggish performance
Poor cameras even for the price
The Samsung Galaxy A7 Lite is a highly affordable tablet, even if it’s far from revolutionary. It has a basic processor but its 8.7-inch screen means you have a good amount of screen space to watch or browse, while also maintaining portability.
USB-C proves useful for charging, plus there’s a headphone jack so you’re not entirely dependent on its two speakers. There’s Dolby Atmos support at least for those times you need them.
Mostly targeting the budget end of the market, the Samsung Galaxy A7 Lite starts at $160 / £149 but it’s often modestly discounted to make it better value for money. Even in regular times of the year, it can be reduced to $149 / £117 with Black Friday and Cyber Monday likely to bring it lower.

Is the Samsung Galaxy Tab A worth it?
The Samsung Galaxy A8 is pricier than the Amazon Fire tablet range, but in exchange, you get full access to the Google Play Store and that’s a huge boon for many users. Besides that, features like Dolby Atmos speakers and a slightly larger screen than even the Amazon Fire HD 10 make it an attractive option. Competing against any of the best iPads is a trickier proposition but that’s because the Samsung Galaxy Tab S range is there to do that job.
For the Samsung Galaxy A7 Lite, it’s a similar story. Advantages like Dolby Atmos speakers make it a more appealing idea than going for Amazon’s array of tablets. Although if you simply need something for web browsing or checking your email, a Fire tablet will do the job well, while costing less. It all depends on the value you place on unfettered access to Google Play Store and if you want an entertainment-focused tablet or not.
Based on that, it could be worth checking out other Samsung tablet deals, such as the Galaxy Tab S range. Alternatively, if you’re keen to switch to all things Apple (or stick with it), we’ve also tracked down the best iPad deals. In particular, iPad mini deals are a reliable option for anyone seeking out portability.
