Display enclosure. Less than 4 mm thin, it provides the structure for the world’s best laptop display.

Mini-LEDs. Thousands of mini-LEDs are grouped into individually controlled local dimming zones for precise brightness and contrast.

Custom optical films and diffusers. Seven films and diffusers mix and shape the light efficiently while enabling an ultrathin design.

LCD panel. This integrates a high‑mobility oxide‑TFT layer that allows pixels to charge twice as fast as before, enabling refresh rates of up to 120Hz.

Far and away your sharpest look.

Look sharp wherever you make or take video calls — whether you’re connecting with friends and family across time zones or collaborating with colleagues out in the field. The 1080p camera uses a wide aperture to let in more light, combined with a large image sensor for better performance in low light.

Studio‑quality three-mic array. With a signal-to-noise ratio that rivals professional-grade microphones, MacBook Pro can capture even the subtlest sounds. And directional beamforming minimizes background noise so your voice comes through loud and clear.

Six-speaker sound system. Four force‑cancelling woofers deliver deeper bass and room‑filling sound.
High-performance tweeters project clearer, fuller vocals. And Spatial Audio creates a sophisticated three-dimensional soundstage when you’re playing music or video with Dolby Atmos.

2021 vs. 2019 MacBook Pro 16″ Comparison

Whatever the new 16-inch MacBook Pro turns out to be in real life, some things are no longer in doubt. A severe and prolonged illness that killed Apple laptops from 2016 to 2021 ended in their full recovery. They are back. They arouse interest, they are admired, tales are already being told about them. Even if their release will be overshadowed by serious problems, the main thing has already happened. The strange times are gone. The first step in the recovery of Apple laptops was the 16-inch MacBook Pro, which was announced on November 13, 2019of the year. On October 18 this year, it was replaced by the 16-inch MacBook Pro with processors of a new architecture, the likes of which have never been seen before. I want to compare these two models of Apple laptops.

Left – old MacBook Pro 16″, right – new

How much do new MacBook Pros cost in Russia

Probably, the consequences of October 18 will be similar to what happened after November 10, 2020. The cores in the M1 CPU at Apple modestly called the fastest to date. They boasted about the incredible efficiency of the chip and promised that computers with this chip inside would be incredibly productive, the graphs showed. The story was immediately divided into two – it is customary to exaggerate at presentations. It turned out that Apple even downplayed the capabilities of its offspring. 16-inch MacBook Pro in 2019The year was also a moment of triumph. He was also better than what was written about him in the press release.

2021 MacBook Pro specs

Even the old 16″ MacBook Pro was pretty good, and the new

same year 15-inch MacBook Pro. 6-core Core i7 clocked at 2.6 GHz and two 8-core Core i9 clocked at 2.3 and 2.4 GHz. Integrated into each of these processors is an Intel UHD Graphics 630 “for tasks that do not require high graphics performance”. When placing an order, the buyer could choose the GPU according to their needs. RAM DDR4, base 16 GB, its maximum size is 64 GB.

720p webcam with 4 Thunderbolt/USB-C ports and headphone jack. The 100 Wh battery was enough for 11 hours of “watching videos on the Apple TV app or browsing the web”. There would be room in the case for a larger battery, but air travel regulations prohibit the transportation of laptops with a capacity greater than this value. Case dimensions – 358 × 246 × 1.6 mm. Weight 2.0 kg. Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0. touch bar. According to a number of experts, their predecessor has two advantages over the new MacBook Pro. Firstly, these are GPUs (in the form of separate chips) with a very good reputation in the industry. Secondly, the Intel MacBook Pro supports eGPUs, external graphics processors. The first advantage is doubtful. The second may indeed be an advantage, but its importance should not be exaggerated.

Apple introduced the MacBook Pro 14″ on the M1 Pro and M1 Max. In the top, it costs almost 600k

In the 16-inch MacBook Pro 2021, at checkout, you can choose one of three chips: M1 Pro with a 16-core GPU, M1 Max with 24-core and M1 Max with 32-core nuclear. The CPU and neural processor in all the chips used in the 16-inch MacBook Pro are the same. If the laptop has an M1 Pro chip, the maximum size of the RAM (combined) memory is limited to 32 GB, then in the M1 Max its size can be increased to 64 GB of the combined memory. Its base is 16 GB. The type of RAM is LDPPR5. There are no discrete GPUs in the laptop.

1080p webcam with image processor. The battery capacity is unknown, but it lasts for 21 hours of “watching videos on the Apple TV app or browsing the web. ” 3 Thunderbolt 4 ports, HDMI 2.0 port, SDXC card slot, MagSafe 3 magnetic power connector and headphone jack. Case dimensions 356 x 243 x 17 mm, laptop weight with M1 Pro – 2.132 kg, with M1 Max – 2.209 kg. The weight of the 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M1 Pro and M1 Max is the same – there are some unknown differences in the design of the laptop with a more powerful chip. Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0. Instead of Touch Bar – standard F-keys.

MacBook Pro Screen

The new MacBook Pro has been redesigned. To be honest, I liked the old design better. But the reasons for changing the shape of the case and the design of the laptop lid are, in my opinion, the most valid ones. Technical. So it is better to place the structural elements and the cooling system. Let’s get used to it. The frames are so thin that the screen had to be cut out. The design difference of the 16-inch MacBook Pro from its 15-inch ancestors was also thinner bezels around the screen. Thanks to this, the screen diagonal was increased to 16 inches.

The new MacBook Pro 16″ received a screen with a notch similar to the new iPhone

The screen of the 16-inch MacBook Pro is a regular 16-inch LED screen with a resolution of 3072 x 1920 pixels, a density of 226 dpi, a brightness of 500 nits. True Tone and P3 (wide color gamut) support. Pretty good screen. The new MacBook Pro has a great and wonderful, even despite the cutout at the top. 16.2 inches diagonal, 3456 x 2234 resolution (254 dpi). Apple calls it Liquid Retina XDR. This is one of those mini-light-emitting diode displays (mini-LED) due to production problems that delayed the release of the new MacBook Pro by several months. Normal brightness up to 1000 nits, in peak mode up to 1600 nits. Contrast ratio 1,000,000:1. In addition to True Tone and P3 features, the new MacBook Pro displays support ProMotion – adaptive screen refresh rate varies from 24 to 120 Hz, depending on the dynamics of the image change.

Why did I choose Macbook Pro 13 over my first car?

The new 16-inch MacBook Pro is said to have gone up in price.
