Indeed a top-of-the-line PC. It stays very cool when running 4k games (55 – 65c). I had a few questions for support, and that was where I had a pleasant surprise! Todd (Customer Care Rep) was in the States and knew precisely how to solve my issue. Then he followed up to make sure there were no other issues!
Overall, this is the best PC on the market for prebuilds. I would recommend waiting for discounts; they are running all the time.

Nach längerer Marktbeobachtung (seit Mitte 2022) habe ich vor wenigen Monaten dieses Modell entdeckt, welches meinen Vorstellungen bzgl. Hardware entsprach, und welches mir dann auch zu einem konkurrenzfähigen Preis angeboten wurde. Interessiert war ich auch an Lenovo und Medion, aber als zufriedener HP-Laptop-Benutzer war ich grundsätzlich an einem HP-Produkt interessiert. Doch hat es eine Weile gedauert, bis von HP ein PC mit RTX 4080, leistungsfähigem RAM und SSD angeboten wurde. Ich habe mir dieses System speziell für den MSFS 2020 gekauft. Die Auslastung des PC und die Temperaturen sind dabei sehr niedrig, was aber auch an der (noch) niedrigen Auflösung von FullHD und 60 hz liegt. Das gilt auch für den Geräuschpegel. Die Zusatzfunktionen Game Hub und Support Assistant halte ich für sehr sinnvoll. Die Einrichtung von Windows 11 war erstaunlich einfach, ebenso die Einbindung ans LAN und ins Internet. Die Zeitdauer bis zur Anmeldung dauert 15-20 Sek., bei meinem 12 Jahre alten Laptop zuletzt viele Minuten. Falls Sie eine gewisse Begeisterung heraus hören, trügt der Eindruck nicht. Fürs normale Arbeiten ist das Gerät sicher überdimensioniert und langweilt sich, aber dafür habe ich es ja nicht gekauft.

Flashy lights, tons of RAM, and a NVIDIA GPU that’s only slightly smaller than a mid-sized sedan, the HP OMEN 45L with the Intel Core i9-13900k is a PC screamer that’s cool to the touch. Though not inexpensive, the OMEN 45L is competitively priced – about on par with building it yourself – and easier to order, customize than a pizza. Having owned close to dozen HPs over the past 25-30 years, the OMEN 45L is by far the best designed of the lot. Plenty of room to expand, it’s a PC that will likely serve you well for years. I’d recommend HP again without hesitation.

Intel unveiled its 13th Generation Core desktop processors, also known as Raptor Lake, as part of the Innovation event. The novelties received a new architecture, more cores, as well as higher frequencies compared to their predecessors. However, some models have risen in price.

Raptor Lake processors, like their predecessors, use a hybrid architecture combining powerful P-cores and energy-efficient E-cores. The first of the new products are built on the new Raptor Cove architecture, which are primarily distinguished by an increased second-level cache. If Alder Lake had an L2 cache size of 1.25 MB per core, then for new products it is 2 MB per core. But the energy-efficient E-cores remained the same – Gracemont.

In total, six models were presented today: the flagship Core i9-13900K and Core i9-13900KF, mid-range Core i7-13700K and Core i7-13700KF, and more affordable Core i5-13600K and Core i5-13600KF. All of them have an unlocked multiplier and are more advanced and expensive Intel solutions. Recall that models with the “KF” suffix differ only in the absence of integrated graphics, but all other characteristics are identical to conventional processors. The announcement of more affordable Raptor Lake processors, devoid of overclocking capability, is expected later.

Senior Core i9-13900K received 24 cores and support for 32 threads, as well as a total of 32 MB of L2 cache and 36 MB of L3 cache. Eight cores here are high performance Raptor Cove. Their base frequency is 3.0 GHz, all together at the same time they can be automatically overclocked to 5.4 GHz, and the maximum frequency provided by Thermal Velocity Boost technology for 1-2 cores is 5.8 GHz. Another 16 cores in the flagship are energy-efficient Gracemont. Their base frequency is 2.2 GHz, and the maximum is 4.3 GHz.

The Core i7-13700K has eight P- and E-cores for a total of 24 threads. The same configuration has the former flagship Core i9-12900K. The new Core i7 has a maximum clock speed of 5.4 GHz. Finally, the Core i5-13600K has six P-cores and eight E-cores, offering 20 threads. The clock frequency of these processors can automatically increase to 5.1 GHz.

In terms of performance, in the slide above, Intel compares the Core i9-13900K to its Core i9 predecessor. -12900K in games. As you can see, in most projects, the novelty is faster – in some places even by 20 percent or more.

Intel also compares the Core i9-13900K with AMD’s old flagship Ryzen 9 5950X. Intel’s novelty in gaming delivers between 6% and 58% higher average FPS, depending on the project. In addition, Intel provides a comparison with the best gaming processor of the last generation competitor – Ryzen 7 5800X3D. And in some games, the latter is faster or on par with the new Core i9-13900K!

Intel also compares the Core i9-13900K, Core i9-12900K, and Ryzen 9 5950X in various professional applications from Adobe and Autodesk. The new Intel outperforms the old AMD flagship by 16 to 69%.

Along with the new CPUs, Intel also introduced new 700-series chipsets, and motherboard manufacturers will release new solutions based on them. At the same time, Raptor Lake will be made in the same LGA 1700 package as the current Alder Lake. The novelties will be compatible with motherboards based on the Intel 600 series logic.

The most affordable Raptor Lake currently on the market, the Core i5-13600KF, is priced at $294. For comparison, last year’s Core i5-12600KF cost $264. At the same time, the flagship Core i9-13900K costs the same as its predecessor – $589. Sales of 13th generation Intel Core processors will start on October 20th.

Intel also promised to release a limited series of processors next year that can automatically overclock to 6.0 GHz. Probably, we are talking about the Core i9-13900KS.

Intel Core 9th Gen in numbers and benchmarks / Sudo Null IT News Now it’s time to move from words to numbers.

Once again, we turn for exclusive information to an inexhaustible source of knowledge – the Anandtech website. Its experts conducted a thorough and comprehensive comparative testing of the three released Intel Core 9th Gen processors. For those who do not have the time and desire to study this major 23-page work, under the cut we will present the most important and interesting of it.

As already mentioned, the ninth generation of Intel Core is part of the updated Coffee Lake family, that is, in all main parameters it continues the glorious traditions of the eighth with the addition of a certain number of additional cores and megahertz.

The top model, the Core i9-9900K, stands somewhat apart in the table. First, this is the first i9 to be released in a standard, non-extreme socket, the same as the lower models. Secondly, the presence of 8 cores, although it is not something completely unique (it happened more), before in Core it was also an attribute of extreme models with the X index and the corresponding inhumane price. Now “8 cores for the people”, taking into account motherboards and everything else, have become much more accessible.

Another trend we didn’t talk about last time is the gradual disappearance of hyperthreading. Experts see two reasons for this. First: ordering and preening the line “by cores”, so that the consumer does not have questions about what is better: 6 cores with hyperthreading or 4 without. Secondly, according to recent data, the presence of hyperthreading reduces the security of the chip, which is also important in the light of recent events.

Let’s say right away: the answer to the second question is rather negative. Here is how the Core i9-9900K consumption graph looks like depending on the number of loaded logical cores.

As you can see, the maximum consumption of at the maximum core frequency is 166 W at TDP 95 W. Unfortunately, due to various core overclocking indicators, it is not even possible to establish a relationship between these two indicators, which further reduces the value of the TDP indicator for the consumer.

As you can see, the consumption of the Core i9-9900K exceeds that of the i9-7900X, despite the fact that the number of cores and TDP of the latter is higher. As they say, “looking at the world, one cannot help but be surprised.”
