Hello Google: new opportunity, old acquaintance
Option Hello Google this sounds new and old at the same time. This composition is the same as Apple has been using for many years to launch its digital assistant: Hello Siri . It’s been that way on the iPhone since the introduction of Siri. Keyword has been supported for years.
Likewise, Google has always bet on OK, Google e n their mobile devices, but with the launch of Nuevos Google Home added Hey Google option. So Google was already expecting something that would surely not take long to get to its mobile phones.
So it was. The first tests were held in October last year on some of the devices included in the final list. Now it’s starting to emerge as an option for more people aiming for a full rollout as soon as possible.
How to add Hey Google to Google Assistant
Adding a new keyword to start the wizard is easy. First of all, make sure you have updated Google Assistant to the latest version. After that, you may see a notification about the new option. This way you can be sure that your phone supports the new option.
If not, you will need to try resetting the Assistant’s voice model. To do this, go to Settings then Google select Search and enter section voice . Click on Reconfigure voice model and click Start . If the option is enabled, in addition to “Ok Google”, Assistant will ask you to set up a voice model for “Hey Google”. If the option does not appear this way, you will have to wait until it is activated to be able to use the new keyword.

Las- user reaction to this new addition they are mixed. Some highlighted consistency across all assistants (Siri, Alexa, Google) as something good and useful for the user, while others liked the difference between Ok and Hey to run the assistant on the desired device. While there are only two options at the moment, it is possible that more keywords will be added to Google Assistant in the future, allowing for a more personalized experience.
