            If you’re often on the go and find over-ear headphones to be a bit too bulky, in-ears and earbuds are a great portable option. They tend to be very small and easy to bring around, and some designs are also more oriented toward sports. Some might not be as comfortable as well-padded over-ear headphones, but they can be a good option for passively isolating you against the outside world without breaking the bank for high-end noise cancelling over-ears.

            We’ve tested over 290 earbuds and in-ear headphones, and below are our recommendations for the best wireless earbuds under $100 to buy. If you’re looking for our top picks in general or are curious about different features, check our recommendations for the best headphones under $100, the best wireless earbuds, the best wireless headphones under $100, and the best earbuds under $50.

              The Anker Soundcore Space A40 Truly Wireless are the best earbuds under $100 that we tested. These buds are jam-packed with active features like adaptive active noise cancelling (ANC), multi-device pairing, and companion app support that help them stand out from other picks on this list. They also support LDAC, Sony’s proprietary codec for Hi-Res audio, and have a ‘Game Mode’, which can help lower latency if you’re gaming or streaming video.

              These comfortable and well-built buds have a warm sound profile that you can customize using the app’s graphic EQ and presets. Whether you’re working in a busy office or on a noisy commute, they can also block out an outstanding amount of ambient noise so that you can focus on your audio. With their ANC on, they last over eight hours continuously, but their carrying case supplies an additional four charges, which is handy in a pinch. Their integrated mic’s recording quality is poor, causing your voice to sound far away and sharp.

              If you’re looking for a balanced sound from your earbuds, check out the Wyze Buds Pro Truly Wireless. Even though they’re somewhat limited in extra features, these buds have a neutral sound profile that delivers adequate thump, punch, and warmth, while vocals and instruments are clear and detailed. Overall, their sound is versatile enough for a variety of content. Aside from their adaptive EQ feature, which allows the buds to adjust their audio reproduction automatically based on what you’re listening to, their companion app doesn’t offer much sound customization.

              These decently comfortable buds have a stable in-ear fit and a well-built design and are certified IPX4 for resistance against water splashes. They’re also equipped with an ANC system and can block out a decent amount of background noise, although it doesn’t perform nearly as well as the Anker Soundcore Space A40 Truly Wireless. They have a disappointing battery performance, though, and if you have the ANC on, the buds only last four and a half hours on a single charge. Luckily, there are three extra charges in the carrying case, and you can even use one bud while the other charges.

              Consider the Skullcandy Push Active True Wireless if you want something more sporty. These comfortable buds have an ear-hook design, which helps them stay in place during tough runs and workouts. They’re well-built and certified IP55 for resistance against dust and direct water exposure. They last well over nine hours continuously, and their carrying case supplies over three charges if you need them.

              These buds have a bass-rich sound to help keep you pumped up during difficult reps. If you prefer a different sound, they have a companion app with a graphic EQ and presets to help you fine-tune them. Unfortunately, they don’t have ANC and struggle to block out bass-range noise like car engine rumbles, which can be annoying if you’re jogging along a busy street. If you don’t like the look and feel of ear hook headphones, try the Jabra Elite 3 True Wireless instead. They have a smaller earbud design and can even reduce more ambient sound. However, their in-ear fit isn’t as stable.

              The best Bluetooth earbuds under $100 for work we’ve tested are the Jabra Elite 65t Truly Wireless. These in-ears are discontinued, but you can still easily find them via some retailers. If you take lots of calls at work, their integrated mic offers superior performance compared to other earbuds on this list and does a decent job of capturing your voice clearly, even in moderately noisy environments.

              Unlike the Skullcandy Push Active True Wireless, these buds support multi-device pairing, which is handy when you want to stay connected to your work’s PC and smartphone simultaneously. Their fit is bulky, and they can push against your ear, which can be fatiguing to wear.

              They have a fairly well-balanced sound profile out of the box, but if you prefer a different sound, their companion app offers a graphic EQ and presets to help you adjust their sound. While they don’t have an ANC system, they can still reduce office chit-chat and the high-pitched hum of AC units around you. They last over five hours continuously, which may not be enough for long days at your desk, but luckily, their carrying case supplies an additional two charges.

              The Beats Flex Wireless are the best Bluetooth earbuds for iPhone under $100 that we’ve tested. These colorful neck cable earbuds have some Apple-centric features worth considering if you’re an iPhone user. Unlike other picks on this list, their W1 chip lets you seamlessly pair them with other devices in your Apple ecosystem. They also have low latency on iOS devices, ensuring your audio and visuals stay in sync when streaming video. Their comfortable and stable in-ear fit makes them suitable for jogs in the park.

              Fans of EDM and hip-hop can especially enjoy their bass-heavy sound profile, which delivers extra thump, rumble, and boom to mixes. However, their companion app doesn’t offer customization features to adjust the buds to your liking. Their mid-range is fairly flat, so vocals and lead instruments are still present in your mixes. They have roughly 11 hours of continuous playback time and fully charge up in just over an hour. Even though they don’t have ANC, and they struggle to block out bass-range noise like bus engine rumbles, they do a better job when it comes to isolating you from ambient chatter.

            • Anker SoundCore Life P3 Truly Wireless:
              The Anker SoundCore Life P3 Truly Wireless are in-ear headphones with a robust ANC system. However, unlike the Anker Soundcore Space A40 Truly Wireless, they don’t support multi-device pairing, and their continuous battery life is shorter.

            • Anker Soundcore Life Dot 2 Truly Wireless:
              Although the Anker Soundcore Life Dot 2 Truly Wireless are pretty no-frills compared to the Anker Soundcore Space A40 Truly Wireless, they’re more affordable and have almost 100 hours of total battery life, which is incredible for truly wireless buds. However, they aren’t as comfortable and don’t have an ANC or companion app.

            • EarFun Air Pro 3 True Wireless:
              If you like a more excited sound, the EarFun Air Pro 3 True Wireless are feature-rich earbuds with a V-shaped sound profile that delivers extra bass and treble. They don’t sound as neutral as the Wyze Buds Pro Truly Wireless, and their sound muddies vocals and instruments, but they’re more customizable.

            Our recommendations above are what we think are currently the best wireless Bluetooth earbuds under $100 to buy for most people. Now, go back to your iPhone and Bluetooth settings to accept the accessory when it appears. Charging wireless earbuds is remarkably simple. Simply place the earbuds back in their charging case and make sure the case is on. The average charge time has come down in recent years, but a full 0 to 100 typically takes at least two hours but can take longer. You can get a partial charge which is good enough to power your earbuds for a short errand but not a full day of use. Each set of earbuds should give you a general idea of charging time on the marketing materials or inside the box in the technical documentation.

                            How to properly wear a Bluetooth headset in your ear: photos, tips

                            I, like many of you, use a Bluetooth headset all the time. However, recently, while helping a friend choose new headphones, I learned that you need to be able to wear them correctly. After checking the information, I realized that there really are certain nuances. And there are enough of them. About how to properly wear a Bluetooth headset in your ear, so that it brings pleasure and does not harm your health, I will discuss in the article below.

                            How the headset works

                            Before putting a Bluetooth headset on your ear, it is important to understand how it works. This is a wireless microphone and speaker built into the earpiece. They connect to the phone via wireless Bluetooth and free your hands during calls: jogging, walking, at work, driving.

                            All existing gadgets of this kind can be divided into two groups: plug-in and overhead. If the former are inserted into the auricle, then the latter completely close it.

                            Important tips

                            The correct attachment of the earphones depends on the earphone type. I will consider everything in order:

                            • Vacuum (or intrachannel). They fit completely into the ear canal. There they should be located tightly, closing the ear from external noise. This should lead to a lower volume of the reproduced sound, and therefore to less harm to hearing. Therefore, if such an earpiece falls out, then the problem is in the silicone ear pads. They must be selected according to the size of the ear. If there is discomfort in the form of pressure or ear pain, replace the nozzle with a smaller one. You need to properly wear this Bluetooth headset with a simple twisting movement.
                            • Earbuds are representatives of the most inexpensive headset. Some models are equipped with a convenient ear hook. Here you can also choose the right size nozzle so that it fits comfortably for you.

                            To correctly insert this Bluetooth headset into your ear, you need to press the ear with your finger, slightly expanding the ear canal. Insert the earpiece and push it in slightly. The important thing is not to put in too much effort.

                            If the headset is equipped with a wire that links the headphones together, then the correct way to wear them is with the wire on top, attached to the ear.

                            • Full size. They are the easiest to wear: the manufacturers took care of the anatomical shape of the cups and the rim. Often the rim can be placed at the back of the head. So he will not spoil the hair, it is more convenient and does not catch the eye. Of course, these are already more full-fledged headphones than a gadget for calls, but you can also use them that way.

                            Additional nuances

                            Anatomical features

                            Not all ears are the same, that’s a fact. In many people, for example, the tragus or antitragus part is poorly expressed. For them, the question of how to properly fix the bluetooth headset in the ear is not worth it: it simply does not hold.

                            In this case, there are several tips: either use vacuum and full-size devices, or buy additional accessories, such as ear pads with fixation. You can buy them, for example, on Aliexpress.

                            Health

                            Wearing headphones incorrectly causes you to increase the volume above the required level. After all, the noise around you disturbs you. But it can lead to hearing loss. Also, if you use the headset to listen to music, do not do it continuously: pause.

                            Vacuum earplugs can also lead to wax blockage. They need to be taken out from time to time, the ear pads should be washed (having previously removed them), inserted correctly into the ear. Then these and other problems, like a headache from improper wearing, will not be terrible for you.

                            Safety

                            Finally, the most important piece of advice: safety. Be careful on the road, at pedestrian crossings and, especially, when riding a bicycle and car. In some cases, it is better to use the device only to receive calls and not listen to music in order to maintain control.

                            Conclusion

                            To comfortably wear a Bluetooth headset on your ear, you need to consider a few simple points. This will save your mood and health, help you get more pleasure. I hope that this article will help you figure out how to wear your headset, or help you choose the right one.

                            Why earphones hurt and what to do about it

                            Headphones are a technology that has tightly entered our lives. It was once impossible to imagine the transmission of sound directly to the ear, but now it is our daily routine. However, many people do not attach importance to the correct choice of headphones, because they do not realize how much they can affect hearing. In this article, we will analyze the possible negative consequences of improper selection or use of headphones and try to answer the question: why can ears hurt from headphones?

                            What to do if your ears hurt from headphones

                            Like many other advances in technology, headphones are a complex device that affects a person intensely. The task of the user is to responsibly approach the choice of headphones in order not only to get comfortable wearing and high-quality sounds, but also not to spoil their own hearing.

                            What to do if the ears hurt from the headphones?

                            Do you take off large-sized headphones (ear pads and headband) and feel pain in your ears? It’s not the sound, but the fact that the headphones are incorrectly adjusted or simply do not fit you.

                            How to prevent pain in the ears from large headphones:

                            • The ear pads should not press on the ear, and the headband should sit comfortably on the head.

                            • The ear pads should tightly but gently cover the entire auricles, without squeezing or rubbing anywhere.

                            • The design should not be too heavy.

                            If your ears already hurt from headphones, a light massage of the auricles will help you:

                            – pinch the earlobes between the thumb and forefinger and gently pull down, repeat 30-40 times;

                            – put open palms behind the ears and gently press the auricles to the head, as if folding the ear, repeat 20-30 times;

                            – put the folded index, middle and ring fingers behind the upper part of the auricle and gently bend them down, repeat 20-30 times;

                            – with your thumb and forefinger, grab the tragus (protruding cartilage covering the opening of the ear canal) and rotate it 180 degrees, repeat 15-20 times;

                            – cover the ears with open palms and perform 30-40 light patting movements.

                            Perform all actions carefully and gently. Massage will help disperse stagnant blood and relieve pain in the auricles.

                            Important : if the pain from the headphones in the ears does not go away for more than three hours, consult a doctor, it may be an injury.

                            What to do if the ears after the headphones hurt not from the outside, but from the inside?

                            Pain is generally a bad signal, and if you feel pain, then do not waste time looking for an answer on the Internet – consult a doctor. The count can go up to hours if the nerve or hair cells of the inner ear are affected.

                            Causes of ear pain after headphones:

                            • too high volume. Hearing experts recommend not listening to music with headphones above 60% volume;

                            • poor sound quality. Some headphones emit, in addition to the main sound, also side ones, such as background noises that are barely accessible or not at all invisible to a person. Such sound can have a severe effect on the hair cells of the inner ear, and with prolonged contact, your hearing may be impaired;

                            • lack of noise reduction. Good headphones should either cover the entire ear with their ear cups or have digital noise cancellation. What is it for? When we turn up the volume of the music in our headphones so as not to hear the surrounding reality, we actually do not stop hearing sounds from the outside. Just on top of what we usually hear, very loud music is also added. Bottom line: ear pain after headphones

                              How to restore hearing after headphones

                              If you have spent a lot of time with your headphones on and after taking them off, you feel that:

                              • after the headphones laid the ear. What to do? Give your ear a little rest, and then carefully pinch your nose with your thumb and forefinger, inhale and try to exhale with tension through the pinched nose. Do not be zealous, you should not get hurt. If congestion persists, repeat after 10 minutes. If this method does not help you during the day, consult a doctor;

                              • after the headphones, the ears hurt and throb from the inside, let the ears rest in silence. After using headphones or attending concerts and other noisy situations, such sensations often occur. If pain and throbbing have not gone away after 6 hours, see a doctor;

                              • after the headphones, you stopped making out speech and understand that the full volume of the TV is not enough for you. These are warning signs of serious acoustic trauma. Seek immediate medical attention.

                              How to improve hearing after headphones

                              Unfortunately, hearing cannot be improved. The auditory system rests on nerve cells – hair. Too loud sound, prolonged wearing or faulty headphones kill hair cells, and they are not known to be restored.

                              How to listen to music with headphones without harming yourself:

                              • The volume is not higher than 60%;

                              • using headphones no longer than 1.
