Show seasonal allergies who’s boss

If you suffer from seasonal allergies, now is when they are at their worst. Stock up on allergy season’s most important products to keep your home, classroom, and office allergen-free. Start with an air purifier to strip the air of allergens like pollen and pet dander and replace existing air filters for improved air quality. Frequently dust, wipe down hard surfaces, and vacuum carpets and furniture to help eliminate pollen tracked in from outside and dander left behind by pets. When leaving the house, check the pollen count and bring a face mask to help filter the air you breath outside.

No matter what you do, it’s unlikely that the symptoms of seasonal allergies can be avoided entirely. Make sure to have over-the-counter cold and allergy medications on hand to battle symptoms, and stock up on facial tissues so you’ll always have one available when you need them.

Spring (Cleaning) is in the air

Spring cleaning and decluttering is a tradition meant to refresh our spaces for the year ahead. Staples has everything you need to clear out the clutter, store and organize your belongings, and all the right cleaning supplies.

Clear out the clutter

Start by preparing a checklist and make sure you have all the necessary supplies. Use storage bins and a label maker to make sorting and organizing easier. Prepare extra boxes for donations and trash bags for the things you no longer need. Look for decorative boxes & baskets that will compliment your home’s décor and use them to organize. You can also use closet organizers and storage drawers anywhere they are needed.

Start with the basics

An all-purpose cleaner, cleaning brush and microfiber cloths will clean most surfaces. Use a duster to remove unwanted dirt and furniture polish to revitalize wood surfaces. Upgrade your broom, dustpan, wet mop, and vacuum to make cleaning any type of flooring a breeze.

The nitty gritty

Spring cleaning doesn’t stop there. There’s so much you can do to reset your home:

  • Improve air quality and eliminate pollen and pet dander with a new air purifier and an air freshener with a scent you love.
  • On a sunny day, take the opportunity to clean your windows – you’ll need glass cleaner, a bucket, a squeegee, and paper towels.
  • Have a step stool or ladder on hand to access hard-to-reach places like the tops of cabinets and overhead lighting.
  • Replace broken light bulbs and check the batteries in your smoke detectors.
  • Use drain cleaner to clear up sink and bathtub drains.

Up your printing game with a Supertank Printer

Looking for a printer with more print capacity that’s better for the environment and your wallet? Shop Staples selection of Supertank Printers for all the benefits of an inkjet printer with the convenience and savings of replacement ink bottles that last longer and cost less per page than standard inkjet printer cartridges.

Rest assured it arrives safely & securely

Whether you are sending business documents or customer products, shipping and mailroom supplies from Staples make the process seamless.

Pack larger items in shipping boxes that are slightly larger than the item, and use packing peanuts, bubble roll, or other packing materials to keep objects from moving in the box during transport. Choose the right packing tape to ensure your packages will stay sealed. Staples carries clear acrylic packing tape for everyday shipping and reinforced or water activated tape for packages that require a heavier duty seal.

Manage the day-to-day office correspondence smoothly with a wide selection of business envelopes, inter-office envelopes, and catalog envelopes in the mailroom. Have finger pads and envelope moisteners on hand for speedy document collation and a quick seal. Choose security envelopes for confidential office correspondence and inter-office communications. If your office or organization sends out large mailings, consider a paper folding machine and self-sealing envelopes to increase efficiency.

Brother is a company that produces printers that closely fit the needs of small businesses, whether working from home or in a small office. They focus on laser printers, which help you maximize page yields and are great if you’re printing out forms. They have a small lineup of color inkjet printers that use a hybrid between a supertank and a traditional cartridge system, so it’s easy to add a splash of color to graphs. Overall, they maintain quick print speeds so you can get your report out the door as quickly as possible.

The best Brother printer we’ve tested is the Brother MFC-L3770CDW Laser. This all-in-one model has an exceptionally sturdy build and a design that allows easy access to toner cartridges and paper jams. Its high-resolution ADF-equipped scanner processes up to 21 pages per minute and double-sided sheets in a single pass, saving you precious time.  Connectivity options include USB, Wi-Fi, and Ethernet, and there’s also support for Apple AirPrint and Mopria Print Service, allowing you to print without installing any drivers or third-party apps. It’s compatible with Brother’s mobile app, which you can use to print, scan, copy, and perform maintenance tasks.

Printing-wise, this model produces outstanding quality black and color documents, but like most laser printers, it doesn’t print very good photos, as printed pictures look grainy, muted, and lacking in detail. It prints very quickly at 26 black or 25 color pages per minute; it just takes a while to warm up and get a single page out. As for its page yield and cost per print, although the toner cartridges are on the expensive side, they yield a large number of prints, so you won’t have to replace them often. You need to replace the drum separately, though, which is an added expense, and the drum doesn’t last as long as Brother claims, meaning you may have to replace it more often than other similar printers. Nonetheless, this model is a great addition to any office and the best Brother printer for small business use that we’ve tested.

If you only need to print in black, get the Brother MFC-L2750DW instead, one of the best Brother laser printers we’ve tested. This all-in-one monochrome model has nearly all the features you’d need for a small or home office. It has Wi-Fi, USB, and Ethernet connectivity, and it supports NFC, so you can simply tap your NFC-enabled device on the printer to connect. The scanner produces high-quality scans and has an ADF with single-pass duplex scanning, making it a breeze to scan multi-page and double-sided documents. It delivers incredibly sharp documents, doesn’t take long to warm up, and prints quickly at 36 pages per minute. The toner cartridge is good for around 2000 prints, and it’s relatively cheap, so you won’t have to spend too much on replacement toner. You have to replace the drum separately, which is an added expense; however, you likely won’t need to do it often because it usually lasts a long time.

If budget is a concern and you’re willing to compromise on some features, know that this printer has many variants, including cheaper models like the Brother MFC-L2710DW, which lacks duplex scanning and prints slightly slower. You can also find bundles that include longer-lasting XL toner cartridges, like the Brother MFC-L2750DW XL, which might be cheaper than buying the cartridges separately. You can see all the variants and their differences in the full review.

If you need a printer for your household, the mid-range Brother MFC-J4335DW is the best Brother printer for home use we’ve tested. It’s the best Brother all-in-one printer we’ve tested, as it has plenty of features and all-around great performance. You can connect to the printer via USB or Wi-Fi, and it’s compatible with Brother’s mobile companion app, which you can use to print, scan, copy, perform maintenance tasks, and order supplies. The scanner produces high-quality scans and processes up to 20 pages per minute through its automatic feeder; however, it doesn’t support duplex scanning, so you’ll still have to flip the pages manually when scanning double-sided sheets.

Printing-wise, this model produces amazing-looking documents and does so quickly, churning out 17 black or 15 color documents per minute. As for photos, they look detailed but slightly grainy with washed-out blacks. One thing you won’t need to worry about is maintenance cost, as its ink cartridges last a long time and are relatively cheap. XL cartridges are also available if you want to increase the yield further. The printer feels sturdy and well-built overall; the only downside is that the power cord isn’t removable, making it hard to replace if it gets damaged.

For our best budget pick, we chose the Brother MFC-J1205W, also known as the Brother MFC-J1215DW at Walmart. This color inkjet model is a great option for people who print more than the occasional one-off project. It feels sturdily built despite its affordable price, with a design that allows easy access to paper jams and ink cartridges. You still get Wi-Fi and USB connectivity, as well as Apple AirPrint and Mopria Print Service support. It has a scanner with extendable hinges to accommodate thick items like textbooks, but it lacks an automatic feeder, so you’ll have to scan each page manually.

This model’s four ink cartridges yield a large number of prints, so you won’t need to replace them often. On top of that, the ink cartridges are fairly cheap, resulting in an exceptionally low cost per print. It produces high-quality black and color documents; it’s just on the slower side as it can only push out nine black or six color pages per minute and doesn’t support double-sided printing. It doesn’t have a particularly wide color range, but printed photos still look very detailed and reasonably color-accurate. Overall, it’s a great option for those on a tight budget who don’t mind a few compromises.

Compared to other brands

  • Can yield a high number of pages.
Both their laser and inkjet printers tend to yield many pages before you need to replace their ink or toner cartridges. It’s great if you’re constantly printing off several pages at a time.
  • Low cost-per-print.
Although their cartridges can cost a little more to replace, you have to do it less often, which results in a very affordable cost-per-print.
  • Quick print speed.
Most Brother printers can print black-only text documents very quickly.
  • Sturdy and well-built.
Brother generally makes well-built printers that feel sturdy and have good access to their ink tanks or cartridges.
  • No Bluetooth support.
While they have excellent wireless connectivity, and some even have NFC capabilities, none of the Brother printers we’ve tested support Bluetooth, which is disappointing.
  • Not really for printing photos.
Most of Brother’s printers are monochrome, so they only have a black ink or toner cartridge. Their inkjet printers typically print worse-quality photos compared to other brands.

Brother vs Epson

Brother and Epson are both major printer manufacturers. Brother makes inkjet and laser models, while Epson focuses almost exclusively on inkjet models. Brother printers usually produce higher-quality documents, but Epson printers are better for photos as they usually have a wider color range. If you’re concerned about running costs, it’s best to go with an Epson EcoTank printer, as these models yield significantly more prints than almost all Brother printers. To see the best options at each price point, check out our recommendations for the best Epson printers.

Brother vs Canon

Brother and Canon are among the largest printer manufacturers in the world. While both companies offer a wide range of printers, only Canon makes professional photo printers. Canon home printers generally produce higher-quality photos but yield fewer prints than Brother printers. As for laser printers, Canon usually makes better color models, while Brother usually makes better monochrome models. To see our recommendations, check out our list of the best Canon printers.

Brother makes well-built printers with a straightforward design. They mostly focus on laser printers suited for office use, so you can expect that their products have a quick print speed and high page yields. They also make monochrome printers better suited for those who primarily need to print off documents rather than scan multiple pages at a time. They also make a couple of color inkjet printers, which are great if you want to add a splash of color to your quarterly report.

Lineup

Brother has a straightforward lineup of inkjet and laser printers, including:

  • Black and White Laser: Print-only monochrome laser models.
  • Color Laser Digital: Print-only color laser models.
  • Black and White Laser Multifunction: All-in-one monochrome laser models.
  • Color Laser Digital Multifunction: All-in-one color laser models.
  • Color Inkjet Multifunction: All-in-one color inkjet models.
  • INKvestment Tank: All-in-one color inkjet models with Brother’s proprietary INKvestment technology, which combines traditional ink cartridges with an internal ink tank to increase page yield.

Conclusion

Brother is a well-known brand that offers practical and efficient business solutions through its printer lineups. They tend to produce sturdy and well-built printers with high page yields at an affordable cost, and their ink or toner cartridges need replacing less. However, their ink or toner cartridges are more expensive than their competitors. Their printers also don’t usually have Bluetooth support; this can be a little disappointing if you have multiple people sharing a printer.

Viktor Suprunov: “There are no barriers for a trade union coach”

Not every trade union can boast that it has a real Olympic center in its assets. The Moscow Federation of Trade Unions is, of course, lucky in this respect. The Znamensky Brothers Olympic Center is already a legend. The first metropolitan stadium was founded in the distant 1905 and never stopped working for more than 100 years. But in 2020, the pandemic has changed the rules of the game. How the work was restructured in the new reality and how things are now in the sports center – says its CEO Viktor Suprunov.

Viktor Suprunov, Honorary Coach and General Director of the Znamensky Brothers Olympic Center, celebrated his 65th birthday recently. He has been in charge of the complex for 16 years. He started as an athlete, and today his students win dozens of medals and become masters of sports of international class.

Despite the stereotype that athletes and coaches are laconic, Viktor Ivanovich is a very sociable and sympathetic person. However, such sincere people are not uncommon for trade unions. Victor Suprunov devoted more than 40 years of his life to sports – he was engaged in decathlon as part of the USSR national team and was a multiple winner and winner of competitions at various levels.

Why did I choose athletics? – the trainer smiles. – So this is the queen of sports! When a person is born and begins to walk, this is athletics. Then he learns to run – again athletics! No sport is complete without this element. I started training at the age of 14, and even now, years later, I continue to train. It happens that I participate in the Russian championship among veterans, but only in one discipline – javelin throwing.

In 2006 Viktor Suprunov was appointed General Director of the Znamensky Brothers Olympic Center. The center has become a truly second home, in which the coach puts all his strength and soul.

At the beginning of my work, a large-scale reconstruction was carried out here. After it, the stadium and the arena became the main athletics base in the capital for training children’s and youth sports teams, national teams of all levels, for competitions and championships in Moscow and Russia , – says Viktor Ivanovich.

Today, about 500 people can train at the Znamensky Brothers Olympic Center at the same time on two sites. Can be practiced on your own or with
coach.

Despite being busy as a manager, Viktor Suprunov has always been an active coach. His wards are guys with disabilities, but with limitless ones in sports.

In 2014, a girl came into my office. Disabled person. Left side – cerebral palsy. She was all in tears. Nobody took her, but she wanted to train. I said let’s try. And we began to train, and six months later this girl – Irina Vertinskaya – became the champion of Russia. After some time, she entered the Paralympic team. Among our recent achievements is the championship in Cheboksary, where she set the Russian record in shot throw , – the coach recalls with warmth. – In general, I always train my athletes as healthy. Their position is already putting pressure on them, and if I continue to focus on this, nothing good will come of , he adds.

In 2020, the Olympic Center faced pandemic restrictions. For the first time since Victor Suprunov’s work (and indeed, for the entire time of the center’s existence, including the difficult war years), the sports facility was completely closed. As the coach recalls, it was the most difficult time for the complex, but nevertheless they managed to overcome difficulties and get out of the crisis.

At the start of the pandemic, everything happened very suddenly, no one foresaw that there would be such global restrictions – our center was idle for several months , Viktor Suprunov shares. – At this time, I had to look for new forms of work. Modern technologies came to the rescue – all the coaches (and I, in particular) switched to a remote work format and conducted video training. In our case, of course, this is not the most successful format of work: after all, athletes need an appropriate atmosphere and attitude … But at that time it was an indispensable option that helped us all stay afloat. Then the Ministry of Sports allowed to open under strict safety rules. As soon as this happened, the influx of people wishing to train increased several times. People are so tired of sitting at home without a full-fledged workout that they are happy to return to classes. In general, I believe that we quickly got our bearings and survived such a difficult period relatively without consequences.

Today there is not even a hint of the previous restrictions left in the center – district, city and all-Russian sports events are regularly held here, aimed at popularizing sports and a healthy lifestyle. The IFP traditionally holds sports events on the basis of the complex – youth games, the Workers’ Spartakiad, the Athlete’s Day and much more.

We have many plans for the future, but the main one is to win them all! – Victor Ivanovich laughs. – But seriously, I want to improve our center and make it more modern every year. It is constantly required to maintain the facility in proper condition, repair. Especially the treadmills in the arena – they wear out quickly, as they are popular, and they take the biggest load. We will work and develop for the benefit of sports and athletics!

The oldest Moscow stadium was built on Stromynka in 1905 and belonged to the Sokolniki Sports Club. Initially, the stadium field had a small area – 4552 square meters. meters, which was inferior to international standards (6600 sq. meters). But after the reconstruction it became so huge that in the capital it was called “horse”. Today, the Znamensky Brothers Olympic Center is the main athletics base in Moscow for training future champions. The name of the famous Soviet runners, brothers Seraphim and Georgy Znamensky, has been borne by the sports center since 1996 years old The brothers-athletes became a sports legend in the 30s of the last century: for two, more than 20 personal records, 11 victories in the USSR championships. Neither a hungry childhood during the First World War, nor hard rural work in a large family (and no less hard work as hammerers at the Sickle and Hammer plant), nor George’s leg injury – nothing prevented the brothers from becoming champions.
