The most recent iPad mini on sale right now is the iPad mini Apple launched in September 2021, and if you want to get your hands on that iPad mini (6th generation) at the best price, you’ve come to the right place. We are tracking the best deals, as well as the retailers that have models in stock right now.

We’ve seen some good price drops on the iPad mini recently – however, if you are shopping outside of the U.S. you should note that Apple has increased the price of all iPads! Read more about that here: Is Apple ripping off the rest of the world with inflated prices? The main reason we mention this is it might make the discounts on an iPad mini look better than they are – which is why we quote the price it was as well as what it is sold for now.

This month the deals could be better than ever during Amazon Prime Day (from July 11 to 12) when we expect to see some great discounts for Prime members. Find out more here: Best Prime Day iPad deals 2023.

Read on to find details of the best places to pick up the 2021 iPad mini at the best price–in the U.S. and U.K.–so you can get a bargain. If you’re after a larger display we also have the best deals on the standard iPad and a complete round-up of the Best iPad deals. And if you aren’t sure which model to buy read our iPad Buying Guide.

Where to buy the iPad mini 6th gen?

You can buy one from Apple and a number of other retailers (either outright or with a network provider), details of which you will find below.

For a while part of the problem with buying an iPad mini right now wasn’t just finding a good deal – it was actually finding the model you want in stock, although stock does seem to be at more reliable levels now!

If you don’t want to buy the iPad mini from Apple, you may be able to pick it up from the following retailers or on contract from various network providers:

US retailers:

  • Apple
  • Amazon

We’ve heard that US customers who buy the 5G iPad mini 6 from Apple can get a $200 pre-paid Mastercard when activating with T-Mobile/Sprint or a $200 e-gift card when activating with Verizon.

UK retailers:

  • Amazon
  • Argos

iPad mini refurbished deals

The deals you will see above are generally from Apple resellers rather than Apple itself – Apple rarely reduces prices. Apple does, however, sell reconditioned iPads in its refurbished store. So you can grab a bargain.

The iPads in Apple’s refurbished store may be ex-display stock, or they may have been returned to Apple due to a fault, but they are fully reconditioned now and come with a full year’s warranty. It’s not like buying secondhand. In the UK watch this page and the US Refurb Store page is here.

The U.S. refurbished store has a selection that includes:

  • Standard iPad (8th and 9th generation)
  • iPad Air (4th generation)
  • 11-inch iPad Pro (2nd and 3rd generation)
  • 12.9-inch iPad Pro (4th and 5th generation)
  • iPad mini (5th and 6th generation)

Compared to the original price, you can save as much as $320 on a 12.9-inch iPad Pro.

Get a refurbished iPad at Apple’s refurbished store (U.S.)

In the U.K. you’ll find a similar selection of iPads available from Apple’s refurbished store. You’ll find the following:

  • Standard iPad (9th generation)
  • iPad Air (4th generation)
  • 11-inch iPad Pro (2nd and 3rd generation)
  • 12. 9-inch iPad Pro (5th generation)
  • iPad mini (5th and 6th generation)

There are savings of £480 on a 12.9-inch iPad Pro, compared to the original price.

Get a refurbished iPad at Apple’s refurbished store (U.K.)

Another place to look is BackMarket US and BackMarket UK, which sells refurbished Macs and other Apple products. Amazon also has a certified refurbished store for Apple products, but we would advise against buying any products that are older than five years – most of the products we see on the Amazon refurbished store are unfortunately very old.

There is a large refurbished market for the iPad Air. We’d recommend taking a look at these refurbished resellers for iPad Air offers:

  • Amazon
  • AWD
  • Big Phone Store
  • eBay
  • Envirofone
  • Affordable Mac
  • Tech Trade
  • 4Gadgets
  • Handtec
  • Laptops Direct
  • Music Magpie
  • Preloved
  • Smartfone Store

Apple’s small-scale tablet is surprisingly expensive given its size but it’s still a powerful little device. The good news is that small discounts are regularly available at most retailers – and we’ve gathered up all the best iPad mini deals available right now so you can be sure you’re paying the lowest price possible.

To put the current offers in perspective, the starting price of the most recent iPad mini is $499 / £569 / AU$829. That’s gone up considerably from the original launch price in the UK and Australia after a recent increase. However, we’ve seen it discounted by as much as $100 in the US and there’s also been a whopping £130 price cut in the UK. Look out for similar offers during the 4th of July sales and Prime Day where there should be some strong Amazon Prime Day iPad deals.

In terms of specs, this latest iPad mini sports an 8.3-inch screen, 12MP front and back cameras, and the new A15 Bionic chip that gives the tablet a massive performance upgrade. Effectively, it’s more in line with what you would expect from an iPad Air, albeit in a much smaller form factor.

And now that the previous 2019 iPad mini is discontinued, the 2021 version is the only one available and definitely the only one worth buying. You might find a good deal on a refurbished model, but we recommend getting the latest version if you can as it offers a huge performance upgrade for only a slightly higher price.

Of course, you can check out our guide to all the other tablet deals out there on cheaper and small slates if you need something for more basic or lighter use. However, with Apple’s excellent OS and Retina display on this tablet, it’s certainly in its own class.

So, here are all the best iPad Mini prices available right now. Check out our best iPad guide for a comparison of all Apple devices or our more comprehensive iPad deals page for the cheapest prices available today on all models that you might also find in the Amazon Prime Day Apple deals and Amazon Prime Day tablet deals.

iPad mini (2021)

A smaller device that’s just as powerful as the iPad Air

Weight: 295g | Dimensions: 195 x 135 x 6mm | Screen size: 8.3-inch | Resolution: 2266 x 1488 pixels | CPU: A15 | Storage: 64/256GB | Battery: 10 hours | Rear camera: 12MP | Front camera: 12MP Ultra Wide

Fast A15 Bionic chip

Improved 12MP camera

Recent price hike in some regions

The 2021 iPad mini is the most recent model of the small-form Apple tablet. When looking at pure improvements over the 2019 version, the numbers really speak for themselves. Enough that we said it’s the best small tablet money can buy in our iPad mini (2021) review.

Not only is the display slightly larger at 8.3 inches but, thanks to the A15 Bionic chip, you’ll see a 40% CPU and 80% GPU performance upgrade too. The front and rear cameras have been massively improved up to 12MP, while the new tablet supports Touch ID and sports a USB-C port.

Many consider it to be in line with the iPad Air but in a smaller form factor. Of course, all those upgrades come at a price. The 2021 iPad mini is priced at $499 / £569 / AU$829, so it’s clearly an expensive bit of kit. We’ve spotted a few deals with a $100 / £130 discount, so anything around $399 / £459 or less is a good price.

Is the iPad Mini worth buying?

If you like the idea of a tablet that’s as powerful as an iPad Air but in a much smaller form factor then the iPad mini is a good buy. The latest version comes with significant performance upgrades that bring it in line with those more expensive iPad models but in a much more portable size.

The iPad mini is a good choice for enthusiasts who want a bit more power in their tablet but don’t want to fork out for the iPad Air or iPad Pro.

For those who need a tablet for general use but want to stick with the Apple ecosystem, you’re likely better off with the standard iPad 10.2 or more recent iPad 10.9. As well as a slightly larger display, it’s also around $150 / £150 cheaper than the iPad mini, making it a much better value-for-money option.

When are the best iPad Mini deals available?

There are usually a handful of iPad Mini deals available at any one time throughout the year. These tend to be small, though, with anywhere between $50 – $100 / £30 – £80 off the standard price of the tablet.

However, there are regularly more significant discounts during bigger sales periods. With that in mind, you’ll want to keep an eye out for savings during these major events such as Amazon Prime Day, September’s Back To School sales, Black Friday in November and Cyber Monday in December.

5 cool apps for taking notes on the iPad

relevant applications: Zoom, office programs such as Word or Google Docs, and, of course, an application such as a notebook or notepad. I recently did an experiment: I decided to go completely paperless and write everything either on an iPad using an Apple Pencil or on a Mac. I must say that it is not as convenient as on paper, but it is definitely worth a try. Therefore, today we bring you a selection of the best note-taking apps for iPad. Rest assured, you will definitely find something for yourself here.

Taking notes on the iPad is convenient, but takes some getting used to.

There are apps on the iPad that you simply cannot do without. That’s what Nebo became for me. A program that translates Russian handwritten text into printed. I did not include him in the selection, because we have already talked about him several times before. If you constantly leave some notes on the iPad, be sure to download it.

Which iPad to buy in 2022.

Contents

  • 1 Notability is the best note taking app
  • 2 GoodNotes 5 – Note-taking app for iPad
  • 3 Microsoft OneNote – Note-taking app
  • 4 Evernote – Universal note-taking app
  • 5 Notes app for iPad

Notability – Best note-taking app

Compiling me was inspired by Notability. The world-famous note-taking app is now free. Shock content, friends! In fact, everything is not so rosy: the developers simply switched everything to subscription mode.

Abstract made in Notability.

Notability’s functionality is crazy. In addition to handwritten notes, you can add photos, GIFs, scan documents, and even leave voice notes. The latter is especially convenient, because if you forgot to write something down, you can always say it quickly.

Plus, it is impossible not to note the excellent sorting: folders, categories, files. Folders can be called a year of study or a semester, categories are individual disciplines, files are classes or lectures. There is another option to sort everything into two large folders: seminars will be stored in one, lecture material in the other. In general, it remains only to connect the fantasy.

Folder sorting in Notability.

Download Notability

The free version is very limited: no synchronization via iCloud from PC and iPhone, handwriting recognition, templates are limited. On the other hand, until quite recently it was generally not possible to use it for free. And here you go, please.

GoodNotes 5 is an app for taking notes on the iPad

Another application in the spirit of a digital notepad. The functionality is extremely similar to Notability, while the interface seemed more interesting to me, because it is very similar to the standard Notes from Apple. Keep in mind, the application is paid, so you won’t be able to test it before buying it.

Another good program, very similar to Notability.

Download GoodNotes

The program greets us with folders and files that are similar in design to the Files application in iOS. There are many templates, document import, handwriting recognition in different languages, including Russian. Separately, I would like to note Search, which can search for material in all types of text. It doesn’t matter if you wrote by hand or typed, the program will find everything without problems.

The big difference from Notability is the ability to open multiple tabs within an application at once. Working with multiple files at the same time? Definitely GoodNotes.

Subscribe to us in Yandex.Zen, where you will find a lot of interesting and useful information from the world of Apple.

Microsoft OneNote – note-taking software

This is what Microsoft thinks OneNote looks like.

Cheap and cheerful – that’s how Microsoft OneNote can be called. The functionality here is also in perfect order: convenient work with text in the spirit of the classic Word, work with tables, pictures, and photographs. It is possible to attach an audio file to notes – everything is fine here.

But remember, OneNote isn’t for everyone. You see, it is made in the spirit of all office applications and it smells very much of Windows. Ugly fonts in the program itself, not the most convenient interface, shifting windows.

No, everything works fast. It just doesn’t have the attention to detail that we love Apple for. It seems to me that OneNote is made for those who have been working with notes on the iPad for more than a year, have cleared all the chips and do not need different tinsel.

It’s easy to get lost in OneNote.

Download OneNote

The conclusion is: if you need a functional free notepad, you won’t find OneNote better. But if you want everything at once (functionality, interface, user manual) – don’t even take it.

Evernote – Universal Notebook App

I’ve been using Evernote for many years. The golden mean is how I would describe it. In it, I write down the text from the MacBook, here I add handwritten notes from the iPad. You can say that I spend most of my life in Evernote.

Evernote is an app that works on iPad, iPhone or Mac.

Of course, in terms of handwriting, it loses Notability and GoodNotes, but Evernote is universal: attach a picture, add text, and draw something by hand. And from absolutely any device everything works equally well. As in Notability, sorting is very convenient here: all files are combined into notebooks. I have everything usually divided into Study, Work, Creativity.

Evernote works great with spreadsheets, audio files, spreadsheets, links. Even a piece of code can be inserted here. This is a note to those who are mastering technical specialties. Plus, of course, I can not help but note the synchronization with Google Drive. No cloud in 2022 anywhere.

You can insert anything into a note.

Download Evernote

Of the unpleasant moments, I can note free synchronization between two gadgets only. If you are going to write notes on the iPad, edit and correct them on the Mac, then Evernote will no longer run on the iPhone, this requires a subscription.

Notes application on iPad

When I started writing notes in third-party programs, several times I was faced with the desire to drop everything and get an ordinary notebook with a pen.
