Best Buy will refund Cyberpunk 2077 until Dec. 21
Best Buy announced on Friday that it will refund purchases of Cyberpunk 2077 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One — even if the game has been opened — joining Sony, Microsoft, and the game’s publisher itself in giving disappointed fans their money bank.
Best Buy says it will accept returns and issue refunds for the game through Dec. 21, 2020. It’s a remarkable departure from the big-box retailer’s standard refund policy, which does not accept opened games.
This exception covers Cyberpunk 2077 and its Collector’s Edition on PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One versions of Cyberpunk 2077, its collector’s edition, and the digital download code sold in stores.
Customers can bring the game to their local Best Buy for a refund, or return it by mail.
“Normally, Best Buy is unable to offer returns of opened game software per our Return & Exchange Promise,” a Best Buy social media representative wrote Friday morning. “However, after some deliberation, and seeing that the vendor will be allowing returns through Dec. 21, 2020, Best Buy will also be allowing returns,” through the same date.
Cyberpunk 2077 launched Dec. 10 on PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One, with the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X supporting the previous generation’s version, too (a version for new consoles will follow sometime in 2021). But users have encountered numerous performance errors, comical glitches, and other game-breaking setbacks when playing on the baseline consoles of the last generation. PC players, and players on the later consoles or on the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X, have had fewer issues.
Ahead of the release of Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt Red faced scrutiny from reporters for its work practices, particularly with regard to “crunch,” a term referring to long overtime hours lasting weeks or months. Despite past promises to the contrary, the company imposed obligatory crunch on some employees. Cyberpunk 2077 also faced criticism for its marketing — in particular, the usage of a sexualized trans model in a promotional poster, as well as the flippant tone used in much of the game’s advertising and social media.
Even after release, Cyberpunk 2077 remains a work in progress for CD Projekt Red. The game launched with various performance issues, particularly on last-generation consoles, although more updates to the game are forthcoming. Console review codes for Cyberpunk 2077 were not provided to media outlets until release day.
Publisher CD Projekt on Monday apologized for the shoddy state of the game on older consoles, and specifically “for not showing the game on base last-gen consoles before it premiered and, in consequence, not allowing you to make a more informed decision about your purchase.” In a conference call with investors the next day, chief executive Adam Kiciński admitted that the company “ignored signals about the need for additional time to refine the game on the base last-gen consoles. ”
CD Projekt Red, the studio developing the game, has already pushed out day-one hotfixes, and even a fast-tracked title update within the first two days, and the studio has promised multiple patches between now and February to further improve the game. The refunds are offered for players who don’t want to wait for the game to be repaired.
CD Projekt’s Monday apology was also accompanied by a promise to honor all refund requests for the game on PS4 and Xbox One. The publisher asked dissatisfied customers to first seek a refund through their retailer. This seemed to catch those retailers off guard.
Best Buy’s regular return policy will only make an exchange, for an identical item, of “opened physical copies of computer software, movies, music, video games, books, video game guides and sheet music.” Most retailers have the same policy. Meanwhile, digital storefronts tend to require that a game be unplayed or barely played in order to be returned and refunded.
Sony on Thursday night announced that it would break with its stringent refund policy and allow players to request refunds for Cyberpunk 2077, while also removing the game from the PlayStation Store. Sony’s refund offer does not have a time limit. Microsoft followed suit Friday morning, expanding its refund policy to include all Cyberpunk 2077 purchases from the Microsoft Store “until further notice.” But Microsoft did not de-list the game.
Later Friday afternoon, CD Projekt restated its “intention for every owner of a physical copy, or a digital copy bought at retail, who has valid proof of purchase … to receive a refund. We will do this out of our own pocket if necessary.” The publisher again asked customers to email an address it had set up for such refunds through Dec. 21, calling it a “one-time initiative.”
Best Buy Will Offer Physical Cyberpunk 2077 Returns

Best Buy is now offering to refund copies of Cyberpunk 2077, even if the game has been opened, but the offer is only available for a short time.
It looks like Best Buy is beginning to offer refunds for Cyberpunk 2077, but only for a short time. CD Projekt Red’s latest title has been facing controversies since before its release on December 10. After numerous complaints about the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game, the company released a statement assuring gamers that much-needed patches would be releasing soon. The message also suggested that unsatisfied customers could reach out to Sony, Microsoft, or other game sellers to ask for refunds. With problems ranging from company culture to in-game technical issues, the company’s executives are on track to lose at least $1 billion over the game’s launch, according to recent reports.
The company’s refund message seemed to have unintentionally kicked off a whole new series of issues for CD Projekt Red, especially since it does not appear that the offer was not approved by any other party involved. This left many seeking to take up the offer of refunds in the lurch as refund policies at companies like Sony did not extend to the situation with Cyberpunk 2077. It seems, however, that the gaming giant has made an exception. Late yesterday, Sony took the unprecedented step of not only allowing players to refund copies of the game which were bought via its virtual store but also removed the game from the PlayStation storefront entirely.

Following in the wake of this news, Best Buy has offered in a support post to give refunds of certain Cyberpunk 2077 copies until December 21. While that date only leaves players a few days to return an unwanted copy of the game, the message explains the date was chosen to correspond to the timeline CD Projekt Red set in its initial refund statement. It also points to the fact that the game should be receiving a patch on that date to help fix its current issues. Best Buy’s refund policy for Cyberpunk 2077 in the next few days will cover copies of the game bought for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One – including the collector’s editions – even if the game has been opened. The post also states it will accept returns for Cyberpunk 2077 Xbox One Digital. Refunds will be given either at a Best Buy store, or customers can choose to return a qualifying copy of the game through the mail.
Fans that purchased the game from Xbox are also being offered a chance at a refund. Though CD Projekt Red has released a statement assuring gamers that it has not been in talks with Microsoft about removing the game from the Xbox platform, Microsoft has begun to offer its own refunds of the game.
At the start of the year, CD Projekt Red occupied an enviable place in the gaming industry. Its last title had earned both critical and popular acclaim and its upcoming project was one of the most anticipated games of the year. The launch of Cyberpunk 2077 has unquestionably changed a lot. While the game may eventually overcome its present problems, it seems unlikely the industry will forget the issues which are currently prompting game sellers like Best Buy to break policy and offer refunds.

Top 5 best cars in Cyberpunk 2077 – Igromania
The area of the map in Cyberpunk 2077 is about 100 km². Exploring it on your own two feet is too long, which is why we have selected for you the best vehicles that you can enjoy driving around Night City and the wastelands around the city.
The best choice at the beginning of the game – Thorton Galena Gecko
For a modest 21.000 €$ you get an excellent all-wheel drive car that is suitable for off-road and for the city. With acceleration to 100 km / h in just 3 seconds and a top speed of 290 km/h it will be a great investment.
You can buy a car in the Wasteland from Dakota Smith.
Best Two Wheeler – Yaiba Kusanagi CT-3X
If you prefer motorcycles, this is your choice. In addition to obvious advantages such as smaller dimensions compared to cars, this bike boasts an excellent maximum speed of 288 km/h and acceleration to 100 km/h in just 4 seconds. The cost is 22.000 €$, which is much cheaper than other contenders with much less outstanding performance.
Sold by Wakako Okada in Westbrook. To purchase, you need a level 12 street reputation.
The fastest car – Rayfield Caliburn
A great looking supercar with a design that is reminiscent of the Bugatti Veyron. Under the hood, it has 1660 horsepower and all-wheel drive, thanks to which acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h is only 2 seconds. The maximum speed is 336 km/h. The car handles well even at high speed, but due to the low profile it is very sensitive to the quality of the road. Best used for driving on smooth city roads. Nothing prevents you from going off-road, but then get ready for what will shake.
Available for 157.000 €$ from Dino Dinovic in Westbrook. First, however, you will have to earn a name for yourself, because the possibility of buying will open only at level 40 of street reputation.
You can also get this car for free. To do this, you need to complete the story task “At the Crossroads”. A couple of days after completing the quest, go to the cave where you killed Nash’s gang. You should enter the tunnel only after 23.55, otherwise there will be no car on the spot. Go ahead and on the left side, in a cargo container, there will be a Rayfield Caliburn in black coloring. After you get into the car, it will be added to the list available to you, and you can call it at any time.
Best of all – Quadra Type-66 Javelina
Nomad modified version of the Quadra Type-66 640 TS is perfect in every way. Despite the fact that the Quadra Type-66 was originally created for urban roads, the Javelina does an excellent job with any type of road. Four-wheel drive gives excellent maneuverability, and 1000 horsepower allows you to accelerate right up to 304 km / h. If you need a car for everything and at once and you managed to accumulate a fortune of 73.000 €$, then this is definitely your choice.
If you have level 30 reputation, then you can pick up this beast from Dakota Smith in the Wasteland.
The most elite cars — Villefort Alvarado V4F 570 Delegate
Ait City, then there is nothing better than this car. When you look at this six-wheeled monster, it immediately becomes clear who is the boss here. The menacing look is complemented by a stylish interior with wood inserts, and the horn plays “Kukaracha”. The maximum speed is low – only 243 km / h – but this is not scary, because behind the wheel of such a car you don’t want to rush anywhere.
All this luxury comes at a very modest price tag of only 62,000 €$. You can buy from Sebastian Ybarra in Heywood with a reputation level of 20.
You can also get a gold version of this car for free if you complete the Blood and Bone: Glen mission.
Bonus: Cult Car – Porsche 911 II (930) Turbo
Johnny Silverhand’s specially tuned car that speaks for itself. Despite the past 100 years since its inception, it can easily give heat to other sports cars. Almost 300 horsepower allows it to squeeze a maximum of 259km / h, and acceleration to 100 km / h takes only 3 seconds. This is the only real life vehicle in the game. On its concept, the developers worked together with the Porsche concern, thinking through changes so that the car fits better into the world of the future.
This copy can be obtained during the side mission “In the Footsteps of the Past”. You will receive the key to the container in which the car is stored, regardless of what decision you make when completing the quest.
There are 54 vehicles in the game, and all of them differ not only in characteristics, but also in appearance and interior design. Everyone will be able to find something to their liking – we have only given worthy options. Write in the comments what you liked and whether you agree with our choice!

Top 5 best implants in Cyberpunk 2077 – Gambling addiction
One of the main features of the game is the ability to improve the protagonist’s body with various modifications. In this article, we have collected the most interesting options for how you can pump V’s body.
Frontal lobe – Accelerator
Legendary modification will restore 10% of maximum health when killing an enemy. To install, you need a “Reaction” of at least 18. The implant, the benefits of which are difficult to overestimate, will cost only 35,000 €$. Of course, there are also less rare versions that will cost less and require less installation. But the benefit from them will not be so significant.
The Legendary Accelerator can be purchased and installed from the Reaper in Northside West, Watson. There is a fast travel point “Pershing Street” nearby.
Circulatory System – Second Heart
If V’s health bar drops to zero, he instantly recovers 100% HP. Isn’t it cool? It’s nearly impossible to die with this mod (unless you get killed more than once every two minutes) and it’s a must have if you’re playing on higher difficulty levels.
Exists only in legendary rarity, and requires level 16 of the Strength attribute to install. The issue price is 42.000 €$.
Purchase requires 49reputation level. You can find it at the Reaper in the south of Wellsprings, Haywood, directly opposite the “Pumping Station” movement point.
Operating System – Network Watch (ver. 5)
The best combat cyberdeck in the game. Increased damage and spread range allow you to stuff enemies not only with lead, but also with murderous scripts. Together with fast memory recovery, you can do this all the time. Other characteristics are also not inferior to other legendary operating systems. Of the requirements – 49reputation level and 43.750 €$ in your pocket. All this can be easily obtained by killing bad guys on the streets of Night City.
Can be bought from the same reaper in Heywood that sells Second Heart (see above).
Hands — Gorilla Hands
Universal modification that not only excels in combat, but also helps to open doors that require the “Strength” characteristic. They can also be used to pry machine guns out of turrets. And if you’ve been having trouble completing the Blood and Bone questline, the implant will help with that as well. The perfect choice, right? There are three rarities – rare, epic and legendary. All have the same attack speed at 2.66. Rarity affects the number of slots for mods, the chance to inflict bleeding and the price. The price difference between rare and epic is only 10,000 €$, and between epic and legendary is already 80,000 €$, although they don’t get much better. With each subsequent level of rarity, in addition to the standard 10% cause bleeding, another 5% and one mod slot are added.
The best value for money epic implant costs only 25.250 €$ and has no special requirements for installation. You can get it from the Reapers in the Arroyo, West Wind Hold, and Rancho Coronado areas.

Legs – Reinforced tendons
Perhaps the best improvement for V, which should be put first.
