  • Faster downloads.

  • Faster streaming.

  • Faster gaming.

  • Less lag.

  • More fun.

From livestreaming to multiplayer gaming to video sharing, 5G really speeds things up. It even makes FaceTime in high definition and SharePlay feel smooth and seamless when you’re on the go. When you don’t need all that speed, iPhone SE shifts into Smart Data mode to preserve battery life.4

Durability

Thanks to a durable design and the toughest glass in a smartphone.

Front

and back.

iPhone SE shrugs off spills from common liquids such as water, soda, coffee, tea, and juice. And it’s certainly not bothered by a little dust, either.

Camera System

The A15 Bionic chip does all kinds of computations behind the scenes to make your photos look great.

For example, Smart HDR 4 automatically refines the contrast, lighting, and skin tones for up to four people — so everyone looks their best.

And in mid to low light, Deep Fusion studies multiple exposures pixel by pixel to capture the subtlest details, textures, and patterns in your final shot.

Give your camera direction with Photographic Styles. Choose a look — such as Warm or Cool — and iPhone SE selectively applies the adjustments, keeping skies and skin tones natural. So your photos will automatically have the look you love.

Portrait mode draws attention to your subject by artfully blurring the background.

  • Portrait Lighting image 1

  • Portrait Lighting image 3

Portrait Lighting lets you choose from six creative effects, like Stage Light or High-Key Light Mono, before or after you shoot.

Go ahead, keep the camera rolling. The enhanced video on iPhone SE picks up an incredible amount of detail — including contours, shadows, and highlights — even when the sun goes down.

Get to know Slo-mo. Let your favorite moments linger that little bit longer.

Turn minutes into seconds. Time-lapse speeds up your video to mesmerizing effect.

Retina HD Display

Touch ID is a fast, simple, and secure way to unlock your phone and sign in to apps. You can even use it with Apple Pay to do things like shop online or grab groceries at the store — all without reaching for your card.

iPhone helps put you in control of your personal information. For example, when you’re browsing, Safari intelligently helps block trackers from profiling you and shows you which ones have been blocked in your Privacy Report. And the list goes on.

Processor

Apple iPhone SE 3 received a new, powerful, modern A15 Bionic chip. By comparison, the iPhone SE 2 has an earlier version – A13 Bionic.

The same version of the chip (A15) is used in the iPhone 13, the company’s most advanced smartphone. True, the performance in the budget model is slightly curtailed. This is done in order to increase the autonomy of the device.

Why is the chip so important? It is responsible for the performance of the device. Now phone:

  • performs even more operations at the same time;
  • launches more modern games (and after all, a lot of new products and updates have been released in 2 years).

The new smartphone handles graphics 20% faster and better than its predecessor (with A13 Bionic processor). This means that video content and games will not slow down. Also now shooting video in 4K has become smoother. And the processor and the case itself begin to heat up only after 15-25 minutes of active games.

Battery

Traditionally, Apple does not advertise the capacity of its batteries, and does not disclose the figure in mAh. Why? It’s easy to explain. The number doesn’t always matter. Much more important is energy efficiency.

For example, in our article on the best gaming smartphones, we compared the iPhone 13 with other brands. The smartphone from Apple has a battery with a lower capacity (3208 mAh versus 4000+ mAh). But even with such a capacity, it can work for 8 hours on a single charge with active use.

The smaller number of mAh is compensated by the high adaptability of games and applications for the iPhone, the energy efficiency of the A15 Bionic processor.

This also applies to the budget model. According to reviewers, its capacity does not exceed 2018 mAh. But due to its high energy efficiency, a smartphone can work longer than similar devices with the same battery.

The iPhone SE 3 2022 has a more powerful battery than its 2nd generation counterpart. Now the smartphone works 2 hours longer with active use (15 hours versus 13).

You can charge your iPhone SE battery in the usual way (via a cord) or via the Qi wireless standard. There is a fast charging function, thanks to which the smartphone restores half the charge in half an hour.

Camera

Smartphone Apple iPhone SE 2 generation users appreciate for a good camera. The main characteristics in the budget iPhone 2022 have not changed: 12 MP (f / 1.8, 28 mm, 1.4 microns, optical stabilization) + 4K video recording at 60 FPS.

But has anything gotten better? Yes. The quality of pictures and videos has become higher thanks to the introduction of new technologies and artificial intelligence.

Deep Fusion is a new feature available in iPhone 13 and SE 2022 Budget Edition. When the function is enabled, the camera takes not one, but 8 shots. Each of them has a different exposure value. The A15 Bionic processor analyzes the shots and selects the 2 clearest and most successful ones. Next, artificial intelligence combines two images and forms one from them. It is as detailed as possible, bright, with rich colors.

Both front and rear cameras are now available:

optical stabilization – reduces video shaking, even when filming on the move;

photographic styles. This is a preset that can be selected in advance and will automatically be applied to all pictures taken in normal mode;

Smart HDR feature. With it, you can take bright photos even in difficult lighting conditions. For example, you can take a picture against the sun. In this case, the image will not be overexposed.

There is another cool feature that the budget iPhone SE (iOS) got from top models. This is the ability to record in “slow mo” (slow motion) in FullHD at 120 frames per second.

Appearance

The second and third generation smartphones are identical in size and appearance. For the manufacturer, this is a significant savings on components. But users have long been asking Apple to release a budget version with a larger screen.

The body of the phone is made of aluminium. It is protected by glass on both sides. The corners are neat and rounded. The fingerprint sensor is located at the bottom.

Design also unchanged. The colors are identical to the 2nd generation: black, red, white. If you want other colors, you can buy a case. There are options for every taste.

Display

The screen on the iPhone SE 3 has not changed. This is Retina HD with a diagonal of 4. 7. The iPhone SE display is bright, compact, and supports multi-touch technology. This is recognition of multiple simultaneous taps on the screen.

Screen resolution 1334×750. It’s not a lot, but it’s enough to have a bright and clear picture on such a small screen.

Built-in True Tone function. This is an option that adjusts the brightness and contrast of the screen according to the ambient light.

Water and dust resistant

As with the 2nd generation of 2020, the smartphone is IP67 standard. This means that the smartphone is not afraid of moisture. It can be kept no deeper than 1 m under water for 30 minutes. Also, the case is completely protected from dust ingress.

Additional features

There are 2 other differences between the 2022 iPhone SE and the 2020 model:

  • RAM is now not 3 GB, but 4. This increases the performance of the device. Now the smartphone opens and closes applications faster, it is easier to work in multitasking mode;
  • added 5G module. This means that the iPhone will be able to connect to 5th generation networks. What difference will the user notice? For example, the picture in FaceTime will be in HD quality not only when connected to WiFi, but also when connected to the mobile Internet. Of course, if it is possible to connect to 5G (in Russia, for example, it is not yet available).
