A necessity for backroads and long term camps

I picked this up, kinda on a whim. I’ve been living off grid in a fifth wheel while buying some land and having a place built. In order to not have to fill my trailer daily I put a 200 gal tank in my truck. Gravity feed didn’t work all that well so I got a 25gpm pump. I hook this up, my truck becomes a mobile water tank. I’ve put two fires out this summer. The generator (7500 watt) is too much to get in and out of the truck so this little unit really saves time, plus the obvious. I’ll eventually find a spot to mount in my truck permanently.

General Questions

Why is it beeping?

There may not be enough voltage to power what you have plugged in. To reset it, turn the unit off, disconnect the unit, unplug everything. Carefully re-connect the unit, turn it on, and then plug in your items.

Why do the switches say volts and watts?

Volts refers to the DC input Voltage that your inverter is connected to; watts refers to what you have plugged into the inverter. AC Watts output

Why doesn’t the fan run constantly?

The fan is designed to come on only when the inverter reaches a pre-set temperature to save the draw on your battery.

My battery is good, why am I getting a low voltage warning?

  1. Check the voltage at the unit with the load and see if it is drawing the battery below 11 volts.
  2. The input cables may be too long, and the voltage drop along the input cables may be causing the Low Battery alarm to sound.

Can I hook this up to a solar panel?

No, but you can hook up a solar panel with a solar controller up to a 12 v battery to charge up the battery. However the inverter must be turned off. 

Can I connect my inverter to a lithium battery?

Although you can use your lithium battery, you will not get the full usage of your lithium ion battery, because the safety settings are designed for the limitations of a lead acid battery.

Can I daisy chain multiple batteries to get a longer run time for the items I have plugged into the inverter? 

Yes, you can connect the batteries in parallel; connect the red cable to the positive posts on the batteries and the black cable to the negative posts on the batteries.

Why did my inverter shut down?

The inverter will shut down when the battery supplying the energy is too low. If your battery is connected to your car, please start the engine with no load on the inverter to recharge your battery before reconnecting the load. If you are in an RV, the batteries are usually auxiliary batteries, so it will have no affect in the ability for your RV to start.

Are the internal fuses replaceable?

The fuses inside of our inverters are not meant to be replaced. If the fuse is blown, the inverter needs to be replaced. Please Call Customer Support

My 12 volt battery is only a couple of months old, why won’t my inverter work?

Sealed Lead Acid batteries self discharge over time. Even if your battery is new, you will need to keep it charged and maintained to be able to power your items through the inverter.

Description

Inverter Soyuz PI-1200W/12V — voltage converter 12V->220V 1200W.

Soyuz PI-1200/12 is made in an iron black case. Mounting holes are provided along the edges of the inverter for mounting on a vertical surface.
